US set to grant Flávio Bolsonaro visa after fleeing Brazil following election loss

Yesterday, it was reported that Bolsonaro was complaining because he'd been approached by officials and told to hand-over his passport.

Today, it seems Bolsonaro missed the 24 hour deadline to hand-over his (five or more) passports, so they've been cancelled in his absence. Bolsonaro cannot be located, and there are questions about the flight-plan of a private jet that could have picked-up Bolsonaro and his family. The USA is offering him a visa if, by coincidence, he arrives without a passport.

I think Bolsonaro pre-planned fleeing Brazil in case he lost the election. He must be aware that a bunch of stuff he's done deserves jail-time. His links with Trump might be a good place to start investigating.

Anthropic and OpenAI keep hinting "IPO soon!" The switch from private funding to public ownership is when early investors take a payout and offload their debt onto bag-holders.

The vague IPO timeline keeps changing. I think they're reluctant because the 'P' in IPO entails:
- Scrutiny of company finances.
- Demand for a useful product customers will pay for.
- Shareholder expectations of profit in the ballpark of the IPO Prospectus. These companies are running at a loss, and if they try enshittification (price-hike or slash quality) to boost income, customers will flee.
- Embarrassment from there not being enough global liquidity to meet their greedy evaluation.

If any major LLM company goes IPO, they'll pop the bubble. They know. I predict the bubble will persist until other money options dry-up. That'll force Anthropic or OpenAI to go IPO. Then everyone will rush for the exit. IPO signals the party's over. It's the cause _and_ effect of the AI Bubble Pop.

This is outrageous sexism.
Even if it weren't for the sexism, it's a clear disruption to workers' work-life-balance.

My view on this issue is that some managers in the Australian Public Service have made a unilateral decision to change working conditions that had been agreed-on earlier and shown for some time to be a perfectly acceptable practice. That demonstrates the employer is untrustworthy. To then remove those work-from-home conditions without consultation with workers shows an unwillingness to be flexible and a lack of respect for workers. To cap it all off, the claim that the return-to-office "mandate" is a cost-saving measure is clearly untrue and those managers are are being disingenuous.

Right! Nobody will be able to use it if it's inaccessible. Same goes for cancelling properly designed interchanges where the SRL should join-up cleanly with existing train lines. It's going to force passengers to make ridiculously convoluted manoeuvres, such as disembarking from a train at an underground station, ascending an escalator to ground level, then dashing across a main road to enter a different railway station just to change trains.
