Of course they would attempt to change their minds as soon as the door opened at let the cold air hit them. I say "attempt to", because we would often push them out into the neck deep snow. >_> It usually took a few times before they remembered they don't actually want to go out in the winter.

Dunno if that really solves your problem if you are trying to avoid transferring the build over the network though. :( Maybe if you built _to_ the NAS it could run a bunch of it in parallel. (Changing the subject... get a NAS! They are reasonably cheap now and super handy.)

Unity builds are often like 90% the same. Does rsync work from Windows? You might be able to just rsync the folder over and skip all but a few megabytes to transfer.

Nice! In my game I take some random samples around the player to estimate the room size, and modify the damping in the ice biome to make it sound cold. It's a really simple hack, but it works reasonably well. :)

Hrm. So I couldn't figure out how to do it from KDE directly, but mounting it manually seems to work fine. Ex:

mkdir smb-mount
sudo mount.smb3 //myserver/myshare smb-mount -o user=myusername,uid=1000,gid=1000

Even without specifying "exec" it seems to work out of the box. No changes required to any configurations or anything.

#MARCHintosh weekend 2: My family’s old G4 still works great! Heavily upgraded over the years with RAM, CPU, GPU and extra storage. Fun tidbit: the early G4’s had internal Firewire 400 port that we used to access an extra hard drive. IIRC the FW400 bus was faster than the aging ATA 33 bus, which is why we did it.

It still baffles me that the Atari 2600 only has 128 bytes of RAM, and 4kb of ROM. (w/o bank switching that came in later years) I mean I've written a bunch of small NES games without ever running into the 2kb RAM limit, but 128 bytes just seems impossibly small. O_o

To be clear that 128 bytes is shared between variables AND the stack. So calling subroutines uses up precious bytes of your RAM! As for the 4kb of ROM? That's like... a single page of a book. The smallest game I've made is 12 kb!
