I think there is also the key difference of Contrast paint not being made out of the stolen creative labor of every model painter ever.

Most people do agree that AI is useful in certain situations and if used wisely. But the moral price tag is there.

People got jailed and sentenced about copy right claims, my generation was put under the boot for downloading MP3s to listen to in private… and now stealing EVERYTHING ever made is somehow a business model. It just makes me so mad.

Work continues on the #gutterbowl pitch. The buildings are mostly done. Working on getting the last market stalls printed. Will have to rush a paintjob till Saturday, but I think I can do it.

I’m getting ever more confident with the FDM printing of terrain an detail work. Cutting stuff in half and reducing support as much as possible helps a lot. I’m currently using models that were designed for resin printing.

Of course there is a huge amount of details to be added later on. Including merchants and city folk. But that will have to wait.

With the gnomes on hold for parts I switched to the #GutterBowl pitch. Found some very cheap but absolutely perfect street lights. These come pre wired, with battery pack, are easily disassembled for painting and even have a metal plate at the bottom for easy magnetic placement on the pitch.

Absolute steal at 3€ for a pack of four.

First models are getting there. The faceswap worked out alright. Also snipped of some snots to get it more in to line with the gnomes and added some balls for good measure. Think the squigs name is Rundolpf.

Beastmaster and illusionist come along as well. The fluffy cap rim treatment is something I’ll reserve for the positionals I think.

Still have to figure out what to do with the foxes to make them fit the theme.

Worked a bit on the christmas gnomes. Love that 3D printers and parametric designs taken the time from „I need a sorting tray“ to actually having one to about 2-3 hours. Very helpful.

Also planning to replace a festive squig riding goblins face with a gnomes one.
