Research use for Sora (OpenAI's video generator): take this image of a 1930s Recordak sheetfeed microfilm camera https://archive.org/details/recordak-sheetfeed , and animate it using data about the through-put (in 1934 Ted Schellenberg did 14,000 pages in 10 hours, assume 9 working hours: 2.3 seconds/page), to give a better impression of what it was actually like to use it. Legit, right? Sora's limit is 5 sec of video, so we'd see 2 pages go through.

Great photograph of the Recordak sheet-feed microfilm camera in operation: https://archive.org/details/recordak-sheetfeed Zoom in to see that she's copying pages of different sizes, which drop into the bin (which, if I'm reading this right, is placed inconveniently so that the operator has to angle her knees to the side). While microfilming the AAA papers in 1934 Ted Schellenberg copied 14,000 pages in a 10-hour shift with one of these babies.
