Accidentally went three days between checking the zucchini plants, and ended up with a cat-sized vegetable.

My mom, who lives in a trans-hostile state, told me she wants to read more books about trans people's experiences so that she'll be better equipped to respond when she encounters people with bigoted opinions. Go Mom.

Mystery! I have found two little vinyl(?) letters in my house in the past week, and I don't know where they are coming from.

Finding one was a curiosity, but two seems very weird. They are different fonts!

I always had trouble getting snake plants to propogate, even though they're supposed to be easy. But I finally did it! Look at the babies!

It took me a long time to finish this book because a fictional story about a viral plague resulting from climate change sometimes didn't feel fictional enough. But it was weird and sad and I liked it.

I like this passage from The Light Eaters: How the Unseen World of Plant Intelligence Offers a New Understanding of Life on Earth, by Zoë Schlanger:

"There is something decidedly queer in all of this—the orchids and aspens and strawberries and antplants and ginkgoes—a sense of sensual entanglement that disregards binaries, runs across the species boundary, and almost gleefully defies heteronormative modes of reproduction. This lens might also help us escape the idea that everything in nature is a battle, with a clear winner. Sometimes it may be an improvisation, or a collaboration, or something else entirely."
