i can’t get truly mad at a situation like this, because if he’s happy being a slop dog (new pejorative) I feel my energy would be wasted on such a project. i don’t want to work on design projects that look like boring shit, i can and have turned down work that does not suit me. i feel absolutely fine to be left free to work on things where my style will actually be appreciated.

recently, a family relation I am not close with asked me to do some graphic design for his new business. i said sure and gave him a quote, which was actually on the low side. he seemed shocked I was asking for real money for real work and ended the conversation. later I saw that he ended up using ai to design everything. it looked completely boring.
It drives me crazy that this is where we’re at, but ig ultimately you cannot sell a designer dress to someone who is happy with a walmart tshirt

hoping my health insurance gets renewed, and maybe i get dental this time, (!!!!) since my old plan just simply decided they werent going to offer dental anymore with no notice or explanation
so i was stuck with no dental coverage at all for two years
(unless i had less than six teeth in which case i had the option to get dentures)
(plus some other insane worst case options)
soooo hopefully i get on this new plan because it will be better than that... usa healthcare hell:)

ive been on the road and sleeping in my truck for a little while now — wanted to make a post about the blackout “curtains” I made for TruckSleepMode that have been working out well so far.

1 - i made a template of the windows using newsprint.

2 - i cut a black trifold foamcore presentation board (reused my younger sister’s science fair project board hah)

3 - attached suction cups to it using beading wire.

been sturdy enough + it’s really nice that it folds up for storage during the day!
