Has been my opinion for a few years now: #complexity is a root cause of many of today's problems in the world.

Complexity prevents individuals aka regular people from understanding things and thus making decisions in their own best interest.

(Large) organisations/companies/states have more resources to handle complexity so complexity tilts the balance of power away from the individual and towards the organisations.

Keeping technology/laws/rules/systems as simple as possible has the benefit of these things being better understood by the average Joe.

But I doubt that whales will just hold onto their BTC through all time.
I instead assume that at different increasing valuations, most large holders will eventually become sellers of at least a part of their stash.

Because the value is at some point so high (measured in touchable goods), that possession of some of the touchable goods is more valuable than keeping _all_ BTC.

And because Bitcoin (thankfully) doesn't earn interest, anyone that wants to benefit from the increased value by having some touchable goods _must_ spend.

Sure, we can assume, most whales/rich folks usually have other sources of capital/income to spend on buying stuff, but if they never sell BTC, they never actually benefit from its increased value, right?

And as to the scheme of dumping and crashing the price and buying back at a lower price, is there evidence of that actually working?

Separation of money and state is necessary and would go a long way.

War needs large amounts of money and if a state that is heavily indebted already just borrows more, it's credit rating especially when going to war will suffer and the debt would become too large to handle.

If that were to happen, the state would immediately propose to allow financing by the central bank again.

All they'd (the state) need to do is "convince"/propagandize the public that all this is necessary because this war is imperative/"forced upon us by the enemy" .. which unfortunately works too often.
