Ahhhh, thank you for the pointer here. I’m going to check into backblaze because $99USD/yr seems pretty great for unlimited storage (with hopefully no need to access).

And it’s a supported provided from Synology which means (hopefully) easy to setup and push data without much babying.

Now I just need to find a Dropbox alternative for day-to-day files.

I hadn’t thought about a dropbox replacement. Our family has a moderately large dropbox footprint, and it contains a large amount of PII. Do you have thoughts about a backup of this data in the event of a catastrophic failure at the hosting site (i.e. our house burns down and all our raid arrays are destroyed).
