Kennedy Jr. In the new study published in JAMA Internal Medicine, researchers analyzed electronic health records from 2001 to 2023 for more than 700,000 pairs of mothers and children in Hong Kong. Of those pairs, about 43 percent of children had exposure to acetaminophen in utero... The researchers saw no link between prenatal acetaminophen use and either condition. It didn’t matter what dosage of acetaminophen was taken, when it was taken during the pregnancy (which trimester), how often it was taken, or how old the mother was at the time. There was simply no link between acetaminophen and autism or ADHD.

What I haven't found is a simple primer that speaks to the fundamentals of preparing for OS migration and potential back-out. First I had to discover how to get carrier-unlocked. I'm now hoping to determine which apps (among those that I'll still be able to run) need to have their data settings backed up restorably. Authenticators, email and messaging related apps, my encryption keyring — there are lots. I have a more-or-less trustworthy cloud password manager so that isn't an issue. I'm wondering whether there are good instructions somewhere on restoring stock. And I want all these questions answered and documents offered in the smallest possible number of different places, of course, with as few uninteresting other topics addressed, as possible. The things nobody tells you. I had no idea really what I needed to back up and what I did not, or which things I would be unable to copy and restore from the old phone to the new one. Then, whether I could get GrapheneOS installed before using the Pixel.

Turns out that while the phone shipped carrier-agnostic ("unlocked") I have to wait until I own the phone free and clear for 40 days (I paid in full) before my service provider will send an unlock code to my SIM (eSIM, now) to allow access to the bootloader, as required to flash the alternative OS (security-focused GrapheneOS in my case, I think, or it could be the privacy/usability/deGoogled CalyxOS, or any of a number of others. They each require unlocking the bootloader. Who knew?)

Anyhow I still have a month before I can take the dive and meanwhile, I'm fighting with the particularly invasive Android bundle that ships with Google Pixel and its myriad settings, all antiprivacy-by-default.
