Has it been downgraded to nothingburger status then?

CORRECTED FINDINGS (2026-10-21): Cached-pointer chain DEAD at the addref (session.c:3213 Z_TRY_ADDREF keeps array alive - no free, no RCE, CVSS 0.0). The real bug is a serialize-state cross-request UAF (ASAN-confirmed at var.c:756, n+=1 on arrays/references, prefork-only, NOT code execution, CVSS 5.3 Medium). Full proof + receipts preserved; lab details unredacted.

Am I misunderstanding all this crypto shit? I thought the point of an HSM was that the keys it generates don’t leave it? They stay in an enclave which is tamper-protected and secure. You give the HSM material to sign/encrypt and it does that internally. Is that not how this stuff works?!

Lots of passkey debate again.

Look. I’ll lay it out nice and simple: I hate them because you keep asking me to use them. I purposely seek out 2FA options when I make a new account somewhere because it’s generally just a “hey, we offer 2FA if you wanna turn it on to keep your account safer”.

eBay asks me EVERY FUCKING TIME I LOG IN to make a passkey. It triggers the browser API to open the annoying fucking UI to do it. It’s a “Ask me Later” not a “Never Ask Again”. Most sites that support passkeys are like this. A few sites I’ve inadvertently ended up with a passkey because of how pervasive the dark patterns are around them.

Fuck off. I don’t want to use them. I don’t trust them. I don’t like the concept of them. They’re opaque and contain a ton of data I don’t know about. Flags that will be used to control my capabilities. Information about my mechanism for storing them that I don’t necessarily want to share with all sites.

When you push something very hard like this, you inherently seem untrustworthy.

I'd like to get back into playing some PS2 games on my Mac with PCSX2. So... I wanted to find a DualShock 3 or 4 controller that I can use. Wow. I have never seen a more counterfeit-rampant search category on eBay. The top results are ALL fakes it seems. I guess I'm better off finding a good-condition used unit.

I’m thinking about a BoJack rewatch. But why I’d do that to myself is a mystery.
