Not that I haven't enjoyed the Blade Runner movies a lot.
I mean, so far at least, doesn't seem it's gonna be the story of a detective searching for androids, in a world of corrupt corporations. Though corpos are always corrupt.
It feels more like a happy future dystopia where everything went wrong, but things feels already stabilizing. I wonder how this book was the basis for Blade Runner. Anyway, I'm glad it's very different from what I expected and pretty mysterious and an enjoyable reading.

2026-10-30T18:51:04Z https://nostr.now/nevent1qqsycnteszhqpfj4atpx2ll33wxw7zx7jqsl3zaampjd6hm2dmehnlgzyp2zpv2kzt0matq4ggcey0vdyy4gq8elm4psqh25fa072q2jvmjcyjpjpgu One for the zoomers

2026-10-30T12:03:37Z https://nostr.now/nevent1qqsrgag8368fqqh2v2a0ky4qdfxnm6vs2qd7phzczeu7x8njy259skszyp2zpv2kzt0matq4ggcey0vdyy4gq8elm4psqh25fa072q2jvmjcy2ke5gw Good morning cawfee
It's the first day with high temperatures over here (18C-24C, although the forecast says there are small pockets of large thunderstorms for the weekend), hope you're happy with the cold reaching the North hemisphere.

2026-10-29T11:32:47Z https://nostr.now/nevent1qqsrrwmxgn53mn30dyhjr62mp3hpwmk9w8s6emvxva4j088t30vkegqzyp2zpv2kzt0matq4ggcey0vdyy4gq8elm4psqh25fa072q2jvmjcyajulvm Morning

2026-10-28T09:59:15Z https://nostr.now/nevent1qqsxhq8v7sgyl6gmmg6flwkg0j47hym9chlh6l943g6ca8ldyacmtjczyp2zpv2kzt0matq4ggcey0vdyy4gq8elm4psqh25fa072q2jvmjcy4yr8nn

2026-10-26T15:25:55Z https://nostr.now/nevent1qqsrqvuhhnly0t0x8pfcvhgwykvr9h3y3uxwdrmgssv0amhzvahs9uszyp2zpv2kzt0matq4ggcey0vdyy4gq8elm4psqh25fa072q2jvmjcy05jagv #NotAIart

2026-10-25T13:12:26Z https://nostr.now/nevent1qqs0j46gtnxsjpymzhsefezyjtjrjq0d7ferxyxp5lcknjhhgz8fr0qzyp2zpv2kzt0matq4ggcey0vdyy4gq8elm4psqh25fa072q2jvmjcygpj05v Guten Morgen cawfee. I recommend Linux Mint if you both decide to go for it.
My "family" always used Microsoft products, since my uncle worked 30 years in a company that bought software from them. My cousin had all their Windows keys, 365 for Office, etc.
All these decades they didn't like the fact I used other OS than Windows (I'm saying it like this since I used for some years on my main machine at home FreeBSD and OpenSolaris, specially the former, since it was the 80% of Telmex servers), but mostly Linux of course.

I remember 20 years ago was the classic "you use Linux because you have too much time, people who actually work uses Windows".
One decade later when I was working as sysadmin in Telmex it was "ask any doctor, lawyer, any business man if they even know what is Linux. Normal people uses Windows, Linux it's for people like you".
Since they decided to left me kinda out of the family, but not entirely out (I guess guilt or some inheritance thing, I don't care), I only talk with them twice a month.
I don't know what they would say today; last time I spoke with my cousin about this he told me he had no problems with Windows 11. It would be very interesting in 5 years he having to learn piping or Vim. 2026-08-02T22:31:58Z https://nostr.now/nevent1qqsy38jdk38q3ec4ljam8s7nzc87d9uzyh5egrcpzutqk7emnx0402qzyp2zpv2kzt0matq4ggcey0vdyy4gq8elm4psqh25fa072q2jvmjcykqr35k https://linux.slashdot.org/story/26/08/02/0631208/linux-desktop-market-share-surpasses-10-in-north-america 2026-08-02T21:58:36Z https://nostr.now/nevent1qqswuksklsjv4yn20h7stn8vguvlf57wpthvjr7pcyp85nescydqjpqzyp2zpv2kzt0matq4ggcey0vdyy4gq8elm4psqh25fa072q2jvmjcyt9zlda #RozenMaiden #Shinku

2026-08-01T22:06:56Z https://nostr.now/nevent1qqsxqdngcdnvezwvlc48rtfu2wad8u9sfn9pamuy9ux80c42f8sdp2qzyp2zpv2kzt0matq4ggcey0vdyy4gq8elm4psqh25fa072q2jvmjcymay092 To take the bus, or not, that's the question

2026-08-01T21:55:07Z https://nostr.now/nevent1qqsxchk0y43zfjel0gek72ctd3fkj7j7dau8x2ce2swq2ugsx6lu4dgzyp2zpv2kzt0matq4ggcey0vdyy4gq8elm4psqh25fa072q2jvmjcydzll3k In reply to nevent1q…x88m
_________________________

Fedi Developer (of crushes) :flag: :cute__i: (nprofile…y6jc) OG Rozen Maiden, nice 2026-07-31T20:24:35Z https://nostr.now/nevent1qqsqv760wxa7nvslqzexxsmcdpjad9scjtw468rg228y0f8gcm24zgszyp2zpv2kzt0matq4ggcey0vdyy4gq8elm4psqh25fa072q2jvmjcymnwqh7 #NoAI

2026-07-30T21:40:29Z https://nostr.now/nevent1qqsrgpqfe8p5sxkhaj73jrx7mzn42gk6wnamutnn4sdjjmcqtk6syggzyp2zpv2kzt0matq4ggcey0vdyy4gq8elm4psqh25fa072q2jvmjcygyrn2r

2026-07-30T15:44:54Z https://nostr.now/nevent1qqsgchxn559g00zwxkey7llwp584psvnu0qmnqgdh37svmu03hj25zgzyp2zpv2kzt0matq4ggcey0vdyy4gq8elm4psqh25fa072q2jvmjcy5s0z49

2026-07-30T15:21:20Z https://nostr.now/nevent1qqs2zk6z52qc5v3ac6upg3kn8hacedsdxx6kd5ljecfup88snvt43zczyp2zpv2kzt0matq4ggcey0vdyy4gq8elm4psqh25fa072q2jvmjcy402xfw

2026-07-29T16:15:04Z https://nostr.now/nevent1qqs23qgktsr7e5vtfx3wmkpgl32d578kmrmdqdkrkke9my2dlk3elxgzyp2zpv2kzt0matq4ggcey0vdyy4gq8elm4psqh25fa072q2jvmjcycu7wgm In reply to nevent1q…0vum
_________________________

:newt: Zanzibart, forgive me... (nprofile…cext) georgia (nprofile…72y8) stereophonics, when you have been for a long time on certain SSRIs you can get masturbated by an the most beautiful elf in a forest and not feel nothing down there; He told me that was "interesting", but he was interested in my expertise in EKS. I KNEW what it was, but I didn't have any "expertise". Since I became silent he asked "do you have experience with EKS?" "do you know what it is EKS?", then I exploded and answered that, NO, I don't have experience with EKS, but I know how it works, it is aws Elastic Kubernetes Service, it automatically integrates in a Kubernetes or from a Terraform configuration and connects to the LoadBalancer that's expecting an IP from aws. Then it manages all the security itself automatically.
He told me that my intuition or knowledge was right, that I could even learn EKS in some days, but he *needed* someone with EKS experience.

When presented himself at the beginning, he told me he was a SecOps Engineer working for the federal reserve of the US, but he was from Norway.
Also, at the beginning he told me sorry for not having a camera (I didn't care anyways), and at the end, told me it was "rare" to find someone with so much broad knowledge as me, he liked a lot the example I gave him about continue delivery (REST APIs and SOAP), but I was still missing some parts of DevOps, though it was fine what I knew anyways, his problem was (he kept insisted) really needed someone with with EKS expertise.

When I presented myself, I began telling him we used Sun Solaris and FreeBSD mostly on Telmex during the first years, and later we began introducing Linux, and even more later, it was mostly a mix of FreeBSD with RHEL, etc.

It was a nice moment before we both closed the interview, that he asked me something like "do you have something you would like to ask before we go?"
and I told him "YES, I knew I wouldn't knew absolutely everything I was gonna be asked for this job, but I wanted to try to rise up to the challenge, I thank you for your time" and he answered "oh no no, I got the pleasure to talk with a fellow Solaris of the old school and BSD admin, it's all fine, and you did ok, you should keep applying wherever you have the opportunity to learn more if you feel like, next time you may remember this interview and have experience with EKS"

2026-05-08T17:19:35Z https://nostr.now/nevent1qqszt6khanhemyjccnj9mwhyfxzf4p275w0xge7fc44ynz6knllnc8czyp2zpv2kzt0matq4ggcey0vdyy4gq8elm4psqh25fa072q2jvmjcy4hy3y4 Ross ended up talking in the EU parliament...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oXcogLmxnJw

2026-04-17T15:35:10Z https://nostr.now/nevent1qqspzq2flqd4qseez9t0x63kwaae3dtzaaqv4n8xjq4lcg9u0hc0alczyp2zpv2kzt0matq4ggcey0vdyy4gq8elm4psqh25fa072q2jvmjcyvwu48g In reply to nevent1q…d0zk
_________________________

nprofile1qy2hwumn8ghj7un9d3shjtnyd968gmewwp6kyqpqf9ycklvrehw8qn2u00pj6jz9muckdu90r07v30d0pafnylvq2s2s3rcs7q (nprofile…cs7q) nprofile1qy2hwumn8ghj7un9d3shjtnyd968gmewwp6kyqpq0kwrjyxeg3xwfnkx4eer2lfz563a3lcnqdslza7gxu5jc5x0wrrs2zc5yh (nprofile…c5yh) Zergling_man - fedicon 2026 @ C109 (nprofile…a4lr)
:cirno_police: BUSH CUNNYSEUR 🌳 Biological Gardener (nprofile…y9u6)
Well when I began to feel the pressure I went to a *barbershop* for the first time in 2 years, I lost my Stallman-like look for a short hair normie-ready one since I had to be "presentable" for the interviews (on site or via webcam -which I don't have and had to ask my cousin to lean me his extra one).

My social skills are bad, but are much better than 2 months ago. The webcam interviews and having to record a presentation video of myself have been one of the toughest thing I had to do in the last months.

My only help is my uncle which seems disappointed that I haven't found a job in these 2 months and sends me the bare minimum to stay alive using boomer's food expenses calculation for nowadays. And since the apartment I live in, it's to his name, because the succession of my grandma hasn't been done yet, he pays for electricity, water and gas.
I have links to ko-fi and paypal.me in my github and even in the itchio page of the Touhou fangame I made years ago but I understand everyone is having economic problems.

I cannot sleep some nights because I know there is one or two days a week I won't have enough to eat, and I'll have to pass the day drinking milk, because I have to prioritize my medication (Clonazepam for my anxiety and Pregabalin for my seizures) before any food. After those, THEN I begin to think how I'll manage groceries.
I keep trying to control the situation and keep looking and learning, I have learned more in the last two months that in the last year I believe. But as time passes and I get rejected, I begin to feel that I don't know what to do anymore. 2026-04-08T17:04:50Z https://nostr.now/nevent1qqsdsm37vjdfmmwuyucrrzxchv0w9vq7nj33vxh5yyw73rdsnvraezczyp2zpv2kzt0matq4ggcey0vdyy4gq8elm4psqh25fa072q2jvmjcyx3w5pm Coffee bros,
Yesterday I got rejected from another job, the third job I applied, and got to the interview process.
The last one was for a "pure" sysadmin position, hard mode, but still, sysadmin, what I have mostly done all my life.
"they decided to continue with another candidate".
I knew the interview went so so. Most of my answers were answered by "brain muscle" instead by thought - this made some really good and fast answers for some questions, and too little too late for others.
It didn't help that I spent all the day before practicing Kubernetes with K3d. As I said, I totally missed their target, they didn't ask a single question about it, not even about Docker.

I have been sulking for an entire day already, and I thought it might be better to stay away from Sysadmin/DevOps for a while, and try focusing on something I see everyday in local jobs hiring, like PHP/Laravel. While I have used PHP for 10+ years, I only know the basics of Laravel and composer/artisan. The only framework I can say I know it's Python/Flask, but there are little to none jobs for it in my area.
I have also spent the last 3 weeks making projects based on what I see employees are searching for and uploading them to Github, https://github.com/leokasion.

Could someone with some time help me with some words? What do you recommend should be my course of action?

2026-04-08T14:13:28Z
