If you subscribe to any of the long term price models, at a minimum we should see bitcoin growing at >25% ARR for over a decade, I should have about 3 times what is needed to comfortably retire. I now have the ability to walk away from a job that is capturing 40 hours of my life per week, allowing me to focus energy on family and other various pursuits that I deem appropriate/worthy of my time.

Sounds great, I know. but what I’ve realized is that regardless of the runway capital I’ve secured, emotionally its a significant leap to walk away from a job you spent 15 years training for. Can you imagine the anxiety/anguish you’d face if you chose to walk away, but were later forced to return to work, only to find that the lapse has reduced your skills or limited your ability to practice at your previous level of expertise?

I’ve been spending a lot of time thinking about this lately and have realized we may be part of an exceptionally small group of people with this opportunity. And, as such a small group, its difficult to find others to bounce ideas or offer emotional support as we navigate these uncharted waters.

If you or anyone you know has recently given up a wage slave position that required an immense amount of training, I want to hear from you! The invention of language and the printing press enabled the widespread dissemination of information, unlocking massive human flourishing. The advent of the internet took this to the next level, freeing information from geographical constraints and facilitating global connectivity.

However, our current system is inherently flawed. It relies on humans trusting one another, often from a distance, without any guarantees of authenticity. Humans are notorious for their self-interest and propensity to deceive others when it serves them. This fundamental weakness has led to the proliferation of misinformation, manipulation, and control.

The game-changer lies in the emergence of uncorruptable value transfer protocols, such as Bitcoin. These systems allow us to transcend the need for human trust, instead relying on cryptographic proof and decentralized verification. For the first time, we can follow the value to determine TRUTH, unencumbered by intermediaries, biases, or agendas.

Nostr, as a social protocol, takes this concept further. By incentivizing the creation and dissemination of high-value information, it fosters an ecosystem where truth is rewarded and falsehoods are penalized. This paradigm shift has far-reaching implications, as it enables individuals to make informed decisions, free from the influence of manipulated narratives.

Imagine a world where information is no longer controlled by centralized authorities, and individuals are empowered to seek truth without interference. The potential for human flourishing is boundless.
