I said it before, and I'll say it again: hummingbirds are native to the Americas, and as far as I know, there are no species that are indigenous to Asia, Europe, or Africa. When writing from the perspective of a person that has never been to the Americas, the simile, "like a hummingbird" is unlikely to come readily to mind for them unless they are fond of reading ornithographical literature.

#[0] Immorality in a ruler is often, though not always, associated with incompetence. To lead, one needs to represent the values of the people one wants to lead, or they will not follow, even if those values are dumb ones. Immorality and incompetence do not always go together in a leader, but they are seen often enough together. Engineers and generals can be morally flexible, and they often should be. Leaders have no such liberty, for what is a crown besides a shackle around one's head?
