selfservice.studio (https://selfservice.studio/) is hosting a workshop at Trust (Kluckstraße 25, 10785 Berlin) this Sunday: "How to Self-Host" w/ Chris Dake-Outhet and Eren İleri - Sun August 23 14:00-18:00.
This first session in a series of workshops lowers the barrier to entry for artists, researchers, and individuals interested in self-hosting at home or in collective spaces. Participants will learn how to overcome initial hurdles using Pangolin, an open-source, community-run tunneling tool designed to simplify self-hosting as an alternative to dominant corporate services like Cloudflare.

We have some new stuff on our website and the toolkit wiki: Find our new text on large language models, archives, image generation, slop and art written by @npub1uda…d6z4 here: https://toolkit.wellgedacht.org/doku.php?id=articles:on_llms
We also just launched new publications that are now on the website, the book Nothing New In Berlin by @npub1uda…d6z4 and Carlos Kong, which focuses on the underground publications made mostly by Turkish and Kurdish Migrant groups in the 1990s in Berlin.
We published the zine version of the text on wiki, both of them to be found here: https://publishing.wellgedacht.com/store/

Thanks everyone who were at the Post-Platform Digital Publishing workshops at #39C3! It was great to meet you all, and talk about RSS feeds for DIY digital publishing, AI crawlers, online and offline piracy methods, and more stuff. We added a short summary of what we discussed during the workshops to the PPDPT wiki: https://toolkit.wellgedacht.org/doku.php?id=workshops:39c3

We will be at at this year's Chaos Communication Congress #39C3 in Hamburg. We will host a Post-Platform Digital Publishing workshop over three days, on 27.12. at 20:30-21:30, on 28.12. at 20:00-21:30, and on 30.12. at 11:30-13:00. If you are in Hamburg and visiting 39C3, come by and say hello!
Our ongoing project, the Post-Platform Digital Publishing Toolkit, is our quest into self-hosted, more autonomous, and more fun ways of publishing online. At the workshop, we will engage with digital publishing methods that operate independently of big tech platforms and products, using free and open-source software. We will create our own RSS feeds (.xml files) from existing personal websites and blogs, and discuss how to publish with copyleft, both online (in the era of YouTube, Spotify, and "AI" crawlers) and offline, in the context of piracy practices within print publishing today.

Looking for a place to stay in Hamburg 26-30 December, we'll be hosting a workshop at the CCC Chaos Computer Congress. Happy to look after cats or plants! Anyone wants to sublet or exchange flats (Hamburg-Berlin)?
