UNPOPULAR OPINION: The Bitcoin revolution is not going start from the Global South. Once these countries get dollarized and the “age of abundance” comes with the stablecoin, people will accept it with the trade-offs. And I don’t blame them.

Their lives have been so incredibly difficult for such a long time that they will welcome the change and don’t give a fuck about the problems related to stablecoins that people in the first world countries are worried about. I might be wrong. And I hope that I am wrong, but I just think that if “the age of abundance” is threatened by Bitcoiners' property rights claims, people do not have any sympathy (or empathy, I don’t know which one is the right term here) for Bitcoiners.

In the end, local people will think that “if Bitcoiners quit being so fucking irritating and simply start using stablecoins, then everyone is going to be happy, including the stupid Bitcoiners”. That’s how I think it’s going to play out. I am totally ready to change my opinion though.

In that sense it’s the same as in El Salvador. Salvadorans are not going to complain about the fact that Nayib Bukele has removed the presumption of innocence and people’s right to privacy, because the murdering and raping has finally ended. People think that the trade-offs are worth it. If you want to go to El Salvador and campaign for the right to privacy, presumption of innocence and open carry, good luck with that. I would not be surprised if the locals themselves would be happy to see you in the maximum security prison.

However, it does not mean that the places in the Global South (El Salvador included), where Bitcoin is used as money (peer-to-peer cash) cannot work as great role models for the whole world. We know that in the end it’s very simple — sats must flow.

Yes — some could say that the Bitcoin revolution has already started. And that it has started exactly in the Global South. I am totally okay with that characterization, but I just worry that Bitcoiners have their hopes too high for those countries. If you are a Bitcoiner, who does not live in the Global South, do not expect the local people in those countries to save you.

Jack is confused about two things:

First of all, nobody is trying to take away people’s freedom to use Bitcoin the way they want to. The same way as when Bitcoiners are urging no-coiners to buy Bitcoin, they do not want to force them to buy Bitcoin or to make it illegal to be a no-coiner. They are simply recommending people to buy Bitcoin, self-custody Bitcoin, and study Bitcoin.

Regarding Jack’s comment about it not mattering what Satoshi intended, Jack is kind of right about it. In the same way we could say that it does not matter what The Wright brothers invented the airplane for. If somebody wants to use an airplane as a chicken coop, it’s their right. Who am I to say to say how an airplane *should* be used. I am just saying that if airplanes are not used for flying and Bitcoin for peer-to-peer money transactions, they are useless. But if somebody wants to disagree, they are free to do it.

I preach for freedom, but I recommend against doing stupid things. There is no contrast there. If somebody preaches for freedom and fights against the fiat system but aligns his actions to support the tyrannical fiat system, there is a contrast right there.

This is the way I see this playing out:

There will be a state accepted, permissioned and KYC’d version of digital cash. Mike and Jack will support that. And then there is Bitcoin (with all the privacy tools etc.), and Bitcoiners will support that.

However, I want to choose my words carefully here:

I think that the fiat system can put an incredible amount of pressure on different individuals – the kind of pressure that would break most of us if not all of us. Just by looking at some of the new players in the Bitcoin space it’s easy to see that they are not ‘traditional businessmen’. So, who the hell knows what is going on behind the scenes.

Regarding stocks etc., let’s see how it’s going to play out. We need to make sure that Bitcoin as freedom money wins. The rest will follow.

I meant that generally speaking people have it backwards. They are looking at Israel as the root cause of the problem, when we have had this same problem long before Israel was created.

If they simply looked at how money is created, then they would see that the reason the money is so incredibly corrupted is the same reason why the state of Israel exists in the first place.

But when people think that the root cause of the problem is Israel, they end us missing what is happening globally.

We have a one world government. We do not have any democratic countries. And there are a lot of people, who know it perfectly well but they are LARPing as freedom fighters who spread democracy. In reality, they are just spreading the same system of control (technocracy).

That is why I feel that the best approach is to forget what people say that they are trying to do and simply see what is the end result of their actions.

IF it’s true (and it is true) that there are and will be capital controls, then all the dollars, euros and other fiat currencies that “you have” in “your bank account” are just exposure to dollars, euros and other fiat currencies. You need a permission to use them. And the dollars, euros and other fiat currencies that you have in your pocket (cash) are yours to use without a permission. Right…?

And if you own financial instruments, then those financial instruments are exposure to your local fiat currency. So, if you own Strategy, Metaplanet or another Bitcoin treasury company and you want to sell those to buy Bitcoin, then you will get some fiat currency exposure. And if your local capital controllers allow it, you can find a way to use the fiat currency to buy Bitcoin.

So, shouldn’t we quit saying that people, who invest in these Bitcoin treasury companies, have exposure to Bitcoin? Shouldn’t we just say that they have exposure to their local fiat currencies?
