@nprofile…p7gl nobody listens to me in the way i expect. i want to use what i've learned to benefit the world, but it feels like the world can't be fixed because everyone is on their own steamrollin' trajectory and they don't care to change from it.
what's funny is that i feel like the world will (eventually) figure out the right thing to do, so like, why am i even here? why do i even care? why am i even having these feelings? i should be just minding my own business and trying to find my own happiness.

@nprofile…7ahy
I had long wondered what the different MMBN maps would look like if they were all hooked up to each other, but I could never find BN6 maps which weren't the detail-less purple ones provided by the game.
Well today I found a website which actually has good maps for BN6, so I quickly threw the Central Area maps together.
It's clear that Seaside Area 1 would've collided with Central Area 2, so perhaps it's canon that the different areas aren't actually next to each other (that they aren't just not visible)

@nprofile…7ahy Good design on the palm trees, btw. When I initially saw just the leaves I was worried the whole thing was going to be made of some kinda cyber-jello, but thanks to the sprite's small size there really isn't too much of that kind of detail. It's limited use fits in good with the BN6 aesthetic.

2026-05-07 01:44:38 UTC

- reply

@nprofile…7ahy I know nothing of the NES game, so personally I exclusively see it as a particularly large and lush MMBN "town square" or "homepage" area. So to me it should follow BN standards. But that's the perspective of someone who knows nothing of the NES game, and doesn't see the crossover potential.
If anything, the only thing I want to get out of this is influencing the design of a cool BN internet map, so you shouldn't listen to my opinion too much.

2026-05-07 01:31:18 UTC

- reply

@nprofile…7ahy I can't help but note that MMBN would never have the bad UX of obscuring a homepage portal. Those things would always be in the clear open even if it meant ruining the surrounding aesthetic.

@nprofile…7ahy Nah, I was referring to the Aquaman/Spoutman arc from Falzar. You ever play MMBN6 Falzar? There's a part where the net gets flooded. (I tried to find a picture of it but couldn't. I don't feel like digging through a YT walkthrough to find it right now.)

@nprofile…7ahy Yeah... I don't recall any vined wall textures like that existing in any Battle Network games. Where did you get them? They look great.

2026-04-29 02:46:25 UTC

- reply

@nprofile…7ahy i see. maybe you could've done something with the sprites from the Falzar Aquaman arc. I remember it having bubbles and fish... IDK if you could get an actual water texture from that though. IIRC the 'underwater' texture was just a blue tint. Though maybe that's all you need, if you put some panels offset downwards, below that tint?

@nprofile…tsag i'm pretty sure the reason why you can't get a good printer normally is because the FBI/CIA/whatever really doesn't want people having access to printing capabilities without the yellow tracking dots. they've struck deals with printer manufacturers to not print without yellow ink, and i'm guessing they require DRM cartridges for similar reasons.
though i doubt they can stop people from DIYing their own printers into existence. i doubt they can even make it illegal.
