Public Service Announcement for the privacy conscious:
Apple auto enabled Live Listen on iOS devices with the most recent iOS update….AKA your microphone is always on.
- Live Listen turns your iPhone or iPad into a remote microphone that streams sounds directly to your AirPods, Beats, or Made for iPhone (MFi) hearing aids. This feature lets nearby devices on your Apple account control the session or view transcripts.
- To disable, go to Settings > Accessibility > Audio & Visual > Live Listen

“How Do We Become Virtuous?
There are two kinds of virtue:
1 Intellectual virtue – Comes from learning and experience. It takes time and teaching to develop.
2 Moral virtue – Comes from practice and habit. It is developed by doing good actions over and over again.
The word "ethics" comes from the Greek word "ethos," which means habit. This tells us that moral virtue isn’t something we are born with—it’s something we develop by practicing good habits.”

“Saying that only the perfect ‘Form of the Good’ is truly good makes it meaningless. No one can really experience or achieve it. We should focus on something practical, something that people can actually reach in their lives. Some argue that knowing about ‘The Good’ helps in daily life, like a blueprint helps a builder. But in reality, most people don’t need this kind of abstract knowledge.
We shouldn't chase an impossible idea of perfection. Instead, let's focus on the good that people can really achieve.”
-The Nichomachean Ethics - For Everyone, Aristotle, Kindle Edition, pg. 22-23
