I've been on a bit of a social media hiatus, but I've written a new post about something that's been on my mind a lot lately

why do people hate underlining links so much? it doesn't even look bad, it just looks... clickable?

It's easy to think "how can I make this API easiest for myself to use" but user needs should always, always come first - the W3C says so! @nprofile…fmyq at #SOTB2025

Having your own website is not going to fix democracy, or topple the online pillars of capitalism - but it's making a political statement nonetheless. It says "I want to carve my own space on the web, away from the corporations". I think this is a radical act. It was when I originally said this in 2022, and I mean it even more today.

hat tip to the person who emailed to tell me the images in my RSS feed were broken. I'd upgraded the RSS plugin, but not actually told it to render the transforms I'd added! @nprofile…jpw4 would you object if I PR'd a little addition to the eleventy image docs to say that folks should make sure to do this if they use the RSS plugin as well?

There’s also a third subset of people who say cross posting is bad, to which I say “cool”

Thank you #btconf for having me once again, you were magical! My slides are here: https://slides.localghost.dev/migrations. The number one takeaway is: be boring, Berlin.
So many thanks to @npub1el6…krq7 for literally everything ⭐️

Through the talks I've seen over the past few years, I've learnt so much about what's possible in CSS nowadays, learnt from others' stories and experiences, got inspired to stick popovers everywhere, levelled up my knowledge of web performance, and so much more. I've also made so many friends. You should go to conferences.
