Hell, I used Tether once, but then it did not work because you need to have Tron on another chain to even make them move. Absolute privacy nightmare. Worst UX. People gave up on promoting Bitcoin a money. So people end up with an inferior experience that they are willing to accept as normal since Bitcoin is not money, but fiat NGU tech that your are not supposed to use.
You can hate on bcash all you want, but we lost global adoption exactly there.
If bcash would have succeeded as dominant chain we likely would have 20 MB blocks now, LN and side chains with good privacy all at a market valuation of $300,000 per coin instead of bullshit ETFs.
Now the question is if 20 MB blocks would have brought more centralisation or less centralisation of nodes.
I doubt we would see vastly different numbers.
So say fuck you to your past self that fucked this revolution up in such epic proportions that for many of us Bitcoin OGs only Monero seems as a viable option to get to another domino effect of actual peer to peer electronic cash.

Found this good post on GoyimX:
ZEC (establishment) vs XMR
LOL
watching the timeline argue $ZEC vs $XMR is hilarious
zcash is a fund backed, regulator approved chain.
monero was built from the ground up with nobody's fund behind it. ive been telling you this for years. here are the receipts so you dont have to take my word for it
who paid for zcash
- 2016: the zcash company raised $3M. the investor list on their own blog includes Digital Currency Group, Barry Silbert, Roger Ver, Fenbushi, Erik Voorhees and Fred Ehrsam. that round priced it around $15 a coin
- 10% of all ZEC mined in the first 4 years went to founders, investors, employees and the company. since 2020, 20% of every block goes to dev funds and a lockbox, not to miners..
who approved it
- 2017: JPMorgan built zcash's zero knowledge tech into its own bank blockchain, Quorum
- 2018: New York's financial regulator approved it for Gemini, the Winklevoss exchange. first licensed zcash exchange in the world
- 2024: Binance put the same risk warning on monero and zcash. monero got delisted. zcash added a new address type so exchange deposits stay transparent, and Binance pulled its warning label in july 2025
- jan 2026: the SEC closed its zcash probe. no action
who's pumping it
- oct 2025: @mert from Helius posts a $1,000 ZEC call
- nov 2025: Winklevoss leads $58.88M into a zcash treasury company (Leap Therapeutics, renamed Cypherpunk)
- mar 2026: the ex zcash dev team raises $25M+ from Paradigm, a16z, Coinbase Ventures and Winklevoss Capital
- aug 2026: Grayscale lists a zcash ETF on the NYSE, $ZCSH. 2.5% fee, every year. Coinbase holds the coins, BNY Mellon keeps the books
- sept 2026: Grayscale's parent is DCG. the same DCG on the 2016 investor list. its SEC filing shows DCG swapped 85,705 ZEC into the ETF, about $100M
read that again. in around $15 a coin in 2016. ZEC is around $1,200 today. and now they sell it to you through an ETF with a 2.5% toll
who's holding the bag
- DCG: in around $15
- the Winklevoss treasury company: 323,394 ZEC at about $342 average
- you, buying the ETF: $1,000+, minus 2.5% every year
the "privacy"
only about 29% of ZEC supply is shielded. the other 71% sits out in the open
- 2018: they found a bug that could have let an attacker print unlimited fake ZEC. 4 employees knew. they kept it quiet for 11 months
- 2026: another one. a hole in the shielded pool, open since 2022. they switched the pool off, patched it, then replaced the whole pool in july
- next: an upgrade planned for nov 5 shuts the oldest private pool for good. about 22,309 ZEC still sitting in it gets stuck
privacy that can be switched off with an upgrade is a feature flag, not privacy
monero
launched april 2014. no premine. no ICO. no VC round.
no founders cut
privacy is on for every transaction. its not a setting
mined on normal CPUs, funded by community donations
Binance delisted it. the IRS paid two firms up to $625K each to try and crack it
one of these gets delisted and hunted by the IRS. the other gets a bank partnership, an ETF and a custody desk
ask yourself why
zcash is a funds extraction play. monero has been around for years, built from the ground up, tried and tested, dont get played!

I don't trust it enough for my home nodes.
So you connect to your home node over Wireguard channel. Cool.
But your node (if not at least behind VPN) broadcasts everything to the passive Monero node surveillers.
The problem is that this data can exist in the first place.

Cake offers a convenient way for normies to touch Monero.
By default it will connect to their clearnet servers for syncing. They ping different Monero nodes with your IP (similar to Nostr relays). By knowing which was the last block you asked for, you gain a data point, because only 5 people dropped their last connection at block 3,346,263.
There are more servers involved e.g. for price display in USD (you can deactivate this, but it's on by default). So if you connectvit to your own node it still will tell someone that you just looked up the price enabling timing correlation. At least one should be able to have ones own price server.
Then if you use other coins (Bitcoin, Ethereum) you connect this activity to your clearnet IP.
Notice that in this case even your single Tor IP (exit node) would create some data linkage.
What you really want is every wallet asking different nodes each time over different circuits including the pings for active nodes.
Maybe something like a ping service server makes sense that you trust. Then you only need to create one secure connection to that server and let it connect you to a healthy remote node right away.
So Cake is not a honeypot right away. Most wallets are lacking those features. Cake is simply by far the biggest wallet, which makes it an easy target. I have nothing against Cake. I use it myself with certain security precautions.
But I'd always recommend Feather and GUI for desktop and basically any other mobile wallet over Cake. Simply because their market position will make it hard to get rid of clearnet connection. If they don't take this seriously they will become a bad apple. That's how things are in life. You either advance and improve things or you become the problem. Time dies not stop. Adversaries don't stop either.

MoE trumps everything. They even have a hard time manipulating their own MoE they themselves can easily print.
So, gold could see a huge comeback if gold holders could start an adoption wave. We all know that won't happen, so you learn to live with the manipulation.
The nice thing about manipulation is that manipulation will at some point lead to an organic market. So bring on the manipulation.
CEX have experienced exactly that with Monero. So the only reasonable answer was to retreat from the market aka delistings.
I do not worry about short and midterm manipulation. It's actually good for a stable - upwards drifting MoE.
People just have to realise how easy it is to be on the winner side when accepting Monero.
With fiat you accept it and with every trade you lose a bit of your purchasing power. With Monero it's the exact opposite.
If you can not stomach short term volatility you should except Monero bound to some long term averages. Fluctuations will average out, but with a positive trend for your purchasing power.
Somewhere inbeteween there will be a repricing event meaning x10 x100 or x 1000 within days. Then medium of exchange life will go on.

2026-10-23 06:43:13 UTC

- reply

Yes it has an effect. But a minor one.
It's like going into the casino or a betting house.
It's a zero sum game for gamblers. Perps or futures are just paper claims.
The difference is that when people expect to buy the real thing, but actually get paper and can not withdraw.
Now if they manage to render Monero practically irrelevant for daily transactions like gold and make the future market x10 bigger than the spot / decentralised exchange market would likely be dominated by perps and futures in the short and midterm, but longterm (like with) gold would flow independently.
Monero won't go away. What are perp and future trading going to do with their gains settled in USD when we are entering the acceleration phase of fiat hyperinflation? They might realise that they invested only inna winning-overall loosing trade with high risks (centralised third parties) and guaranteed taxes.
Let those people gamble away their money, they would have done it anyway. Monero is useful today it'll take over the cash market.

Those that use Bitcoin and cryto as a fiat store of value need to tap into the candy box now as fiat living costs rise beyond what most people can buffer easily.
This leads to sell pressure regardless of the greater economic conditions. It's the main exhibit why Bitcoin failed. It focused too much on becoming a taxable fiat store of value than creating an actual circular economy that can uplift people even in troubling times.
I am so glad, that Monero got delisted from fiat NGU maxis so now it can do its own thing without being proned to the same dynamics as other crypto.

As if price matters. Show us the transaction chart instead. It's the only thing that matters.

Read control planes capital here on Nostr about how a one world gov is already in place.
This is all part of the one world gov operation. States are sending their plebs into the meat grinder because they want to get rid of them, not because they have to win a fight.
The war has always been between rulers and plebs. All-WAYS.
It's the eternal war resembled by your intellect powered ego over your emotional body. Micro and macro cosmos represent each other.
Become the ruler over your own territory first. Throw out false prophets (ego).
There's a healthy part in the ego as well. So take care of separating the right parts.
Once you understand that everything starts and ends with yourself, healing can occur. Else only confrontation and then annihilation await you.

There is a clear war zone connecting Eastern Europe/Russia with the middle east, if you live anywhere close consider to move.

No other giftcard service asks for names. Consider to change your jurisdiction.
Else you are asking for trouble to underpin your easy to game fields with real ID data that then will get leaked for aeons to come.

You are a realist, just like Rich. Which means you have a relatively harder time grasping future time lines.
I observe the thinking process that leads to failure. Once the thinking process started to rot a decade ago there were only very few chances to turn the ship around. This is already the aftermath of the collapse of an idea that was embodied by Bitcoin for at least a couple of years.
You all cling to the fiat price as if it would mean success. Lol, $80k in 2026 is an utter failure. It did not really outperform anything fiat dominated for the (almost) last ten fucking years and with custodians creating virtual supply as they see fit Bitcoins only selling point (NGU) got neutralised vs fiat handlers market manipulation and regulation games.
Take away the failed fiat price as by now it should be closer to 1M to even declare itself as an inflation hedge and you'll see there is nothing left but a few networks if people here on Nostr that are upkeeping the cypherpunk vision of increased freedom.

That's how you know Bitcoin failed.
Too many people holding Strategy, ETFs or Coinbase-Bitlycoins.
What this does is change the social contract. Bitcoin nowadays has much more outstanding IOUs than Monero for example. It will mute price development for decades to come and gives fiat handlers the time to transfer everyone to fiat 2.0 before Bitcoin could act as real price signal.
It also helps discriminating agajnst "dirty" self-custodial coins.
Agent Smith welcomes you back to the correct and compliant side. It was a nice ride for many Bitlycoiners. Now that you are fiat rich it's now your time to put your foot on the plebs head instead if teaching them some tools for freedom.

You guys have not learned the lesson from centralised third parties doing fractional reserves on Monero.
Self-custody is not really about protecting your coins from tail risks, though CEX rug pulls happen all the time.
It's about keeping the collective social contract intact, that there will only be 21M coins (and a couple more IOUs), but not 210M or 500M virtual Bitlycoins that play silly games with underlying centralised (custodied) supplies.
It fascinates me, how many Bitcoiners do not get this.
It's also the reason why Monero people warned about ETFs. ETFs are a tool for centralised control over price.

Balaji is just a intel tool.
Else he would not pump Mossad coin over Monero.
