Victory! Appeals Court Rejects Expansive New Copyright Claim
https://www.eff.org/deeplinks/2026/09/victory-appeals-court-rejects-expansive-new-copyright-claim
"A group of anonymous Github contributors sued, alleging the new code coming out of these LLMs was similar to theirs—but with the CMI stripped out.
The Ninth Circuit correctly agreed with what we said in our brief: removing copyright information from a copyrighted work is fundamentally different from creating a new work that didn't have CMI in the first place."

The Fanfare Around the Band Geese Actually Was a Psyop
https://www.wired.com/story/geese-chaotic-good-marketing-industry-plant/
"It’s an open secret in the music industry that all the numbers—play counts, followers, stats—are fake or at least obfuscated. Last year, a California-based rapper sued Spotify, alleging he and other musicians were losing money because of artificially inflated streams. The complaint cited Drake (who was not a defendant), claiming that his Spotify streams were “inauthentic and appeared to be the work of a sprawling network of bot accounts." Bots and “streaming farms” have become a marketing expense."
