I wasn’t convinced Claude could really replace me until I watched it trigger fail2ban while configuring fail2ban and lock itself out, just like I would have. 🫡

A fun little exercise: if you think the things Kirk said weren’t racist or sexist or homophobic, paste them without attribution into the general chat of your work Slack.

Conservatives want to attack trans people as being mentally ill but if cis white men had to have 1/10th the therapy we are required to have just to be elligible for life saving medical treatment we might have a lot fewer dead school children in this country.

exactly. I grew up in a place where American Chinese food was what served for “exotic cuisine”. I had to push my own boundaries to try other things, but most people I grew up with have probably never had like Indian food or Ethiopian food because they’d have to drive an hour to find any.

the biggest problem with this place is that it is what you make of it, so if (white) people like me don’t follow hashtags/etc about other cultures & groups, our feeds will tend to just look like us. Which is boring as hell so I try my best to expand what I follow, but I think most people just aren’t aware of their own myopia and so they never push their own boundaries.
This is one of the few things I miss about twitter - it was so good at putting perspectives that aren’t my own in front of me.

One positive impact for me from the transphobic nightmare we’ve lived in for the past few years is that I used to really be uncomfortable around and resentful of drag queens because their experiences often get conflated with ours (trans people) but now I know their backs go against the same walls as ours and many of them fight for both communities. #trans #drag #transphobia #solidarity
