Lord of the rings is extremely boring.. Dark is Rising is BRILLIANT. I also recommend Mary Stewart The Crystal Cave

I'm watching 'Harry Potter'. People slag Jk off for alleged plagiarism. I don't see that but I recognise her influences. I am 5 years younger than her but probably read the same books. The Lord of the rings, Elidor, The Owl Service, The Dark is Rising, The Wizard of Earthsea.. All brilliant children's books. I don't believe such books exist now for kids

Lol, they haven't got a clue and many seem to fantasise about penetrative sex and endless orgasms. Good luck with that.....

I knew a gay guy who didn't know what a clitoris is. Even some straight guys are shockingly ignorant of female anatomy

I was watching a docu at work and it came up during the docu. I'm not letting it ruin one of my favourite films 😁

Yes, but the rest of the score Was Angela, it's such an evocative score and sets the mood beautifully

'Watership Down' is one of my favourite films. I read the book aged 8 and saw the film at 11. To this day I still absolutely love it. The voice acting, watercolour landscapes, the fantastic musical score. I've just found out that the score was composed by Angela formerly Wally, a trans woman!!! OMG, that's ruined it for me. Of course I'm not being serious, I expect Angela was just getting on with their life, composing and performing music and not abusing women online or pissing on Suffragette statues in London. I STILL love 'Watership Down'.......

OOh all of that stuff sounds great, I make EXCELLENT curries, been to India twice and I can even make my own sev and Bombay mix. I love food. I'm just out of menopause now and getting hot and fat, I work in a plastics factory and it's HELL in there at the moment, normally I knock about in a loose maxi dress and sandals like an old hippy. LOL. I make absolutely wicked gazpacho, and thankfully apart from being roasting hot all the time, I don't think I have any allergies. I love avocado but apparently the ecological cost is high, that's another story. Mennonite borscht sounds good, I must google it. I love trying new things, I saw a docu on street food and made Mrs Linda's "old sober" (did it vege though" It was great!!!), I can't wait to try the little Ukrainian and Russian dumplings. My Polish colleagues say they eat them as well!

My weight goes up and down like a yoyo but I fancy making varenyky at the weekend, it will make a nice change. My Lithuanian colleague said to try cold beetroot soup too. I'm a pretty good cook, I even mastered the art of Indian dosa, delicious...

I just googled varenyky, I absolutely love cooking, especially new things from different places. I'm going to attempt some at the weekend, they'll probably go horribly wrong but I found recipes and must try it out

One of my best friends is gay, she's happily married but even if she wasn't she wouldn't touch a "Trans lesbian" with a barge pole...

Up there you would all be Viking types surely? I have a theory that those on Orkney have that distinctive Orcadian chin cos they're all Norse stock, the skeletons of women from back then are much more heavyset than most women now ( I do appreciate that you're from Uist and not Orkney but it probably still applies) I also read that the Viking stereotype of blonde etc is not necessarily true

I was going to write this in French, I'm off to La Rochelle in under 2 weeks but my French is incredibly rusty. I was wondering what 'Adult Human Female' is in French, I don't trust Google or AI

Random artwork moment, a rather overworked market and Temple scene painted in Orchha, Madya Pradesh in 1997. I've got very lazy in my old age and don't do much art now...

It really boils my p*ss, as we say, why do we need LGBTQIA2S+ month, trans visibility day, lesbian day of visibility, trans awareness day, pansexual day, aromantic day? Just EFF OFF!!!! The whole thing has got beyond a joke.

Bristol Aquarium are hosting this event, will we ever be set free of gender woo???
🌅 Celebrate Pride month and explore the Aquarium after hours this summer! 🌈
Welcome to Sunset Seas at Bristol Aquarium – an adults-only evening beneath the waves.
Step into the aquarium after-hours where the wonder of the ocean meets the beauty of the tropics. As the sun sets over the city, explore our creatures in a whole new light with a drink in your hand, in this event – exclusively for guests aged 18 and over.
In honour of Pride, we’re celebrating diversity in all its forms this June!
Follow our Pride Trail through the aquarium to discover fascinating stories of fish that can change sex, species that defy the binary, and how the underwater world reflects the rich spectrum of identities within the LGBTQ+ community.
Our bar is open all night for you to enjoy a cocktail with the fish. Wander through the tranquil botanical house at dusk, with turtles swimming beneath and giant monstera leaves towering overhead. The event offers a peaceful and immersive experience of twilight beneath the waves.
