Old electronics tech, field and board repair, full stack and general geek. Mostly retired. Originally from Wales. Canuck since childhood. Can pronounce 'LL' reliably. Otherwise quite dense. Someone in one of my action groups described me as an 'old socialist' during a meeting. Fair. :-)

I had 2º earlier, but I'm up to 4ºC now - it's daylight and 08h30. What's gone wrong with your heat? Or is it supply?

As their close neighbour, here in canada, the difference in culture and effects with guns and laws is quite amazing: we are literally like next of kin, but...
> The United States has had the most mass shootings of any country. In one 2017 study published in Time magazine by criminologist Adam Lankford, it was estimated that 31% of public mass shootings occur in the US, although it has only 5% of the world's population.

As with healthcare, Canada only looks good when compared to the USA and not Euro countries, but it's a *lot* less.
Yes, the odd knife wielding nutter goes crazy in china or the uk, but the carnage is nothing like it is in the USA with guns.
