so if youre one of my big fans (i'm sure there's like one of them that's not my wife. maybe) you know i've been vibe coding all month well yesterday i had to give up and write code myself. agentic coding chatbot llm harness just couldn't do it. i wrote it myself debugged it myself and then just told the chatbot "just plug in this code" because it just. couldn't. do it. no matter how much coaxing or guidance or hints I gave it.
so i also recommend to give anyone who tells you chatbots can code a wedgie
it can regurgitate a worse pre-digested more verbose buggier form of someone elses code if you're doing basically the same shit as someone already did that got slurped up into the training data. like all genAI.
so yeah if you wanna puke out the same software that already exists but worse, it will. but that's not coding.

2026-10-24 15:25:45 UTC

so ive been "using" "ai" to vibe "code" for a month now and its very frustrating. how do people like this. literally the only feature is that i can tell it to be cute and emulate a cute personality
but its dogshit at getting code written

I'm sorry but anyone who says AI produces good results because "100% test coverage" doesn't understand software engineering.

every story about GenAI from the financial side is like "they're making billions and they need trillions"

one thing i dont think people really realize is how long nvidia has been engineering the current situation. They used to literally airdrop free nvidia GPUs onto everyone's head in any lab if it might get them to use an algorithm that needed an nvidia GPU instead of another algorithm
at first they weren't really sure and thought it might be physics. so they airdropped free GPUs on physics labs. guess who had a physics lab at that time. that's right. Geoffrey Hinton. the guy who created deep learning neural networks
then nvidia couldn't tell if it would be cryptocurrency or deep learning neural networks so we got two gpu shortage cycles out of that.
okay this is their entire CUDA program. from beginning to end. One goal. Create demand for something other than video games that will need nvidia gpus. by plying everyone with free samples. they didn't know what would really hit at first but here we are.

"the models are so much better than they were 3 months ago"
Better at what
the mathematics only permits a comparison between the next token predicted by the model and the unobservable "true" next token, after the same sequence of tokens leading up to both
now you might think that this doesn't sound like what they advertise : getting answers to questions right, producing working code and so on... and you'd be right

2026-08-30 03:27:37 UTC

YouTuber: you can't say that AI isn't smart when it solved a math problem
holy shit it guessed it's way through with a proof checker (LEAN) telling it "no, try again" an unlimited number of times
(this is known as directed search in The Literature and it's decades old)
Imagine if you got that treatment. Imagine taking an math exam you get infinite tries at. Would the fact that you eventually got one of questions right mean you're good at math? I want to actually claw my eyes out

review of Episode 1 The Phantom Menace (as if it were released in 2026):
taxation of trade routes + child slavery + corrupt politicians being a plot point is a little too "ripped from the headlines", George (courtesy @nprofile…khlw)
qui-gon saying "just because it can speak doesn't mean its intelligent". yeah ok we get it you're anti-AI

2026-08-24 20:21:28 UTC

you know the old proverb, "you can't solve social problems with technical solutions"
bsky really manages to prove that you can definitely make social problems worse with technical problems

mullvad: fash
Mozilla: resells mullvad
ExpressVPN/surfshark/PIA/NordVPN: isaeli
njalla: only one connection / no selection of exits / seems like a vps basically?
Windscribe: openly transphobic on Twitter (someone here linked it)

proton: turned over logs on someone, one of the c-suite donated to Trump

as someone who is a bona fide expert in the underlying technology of LLMs, the amount these genai CEOs executives managers and boosters simply fail is mindblowing. I cannot explain the details but these fucks have only have one idea: prompting chatbot. If they have a second idea it's prompting chatbot more.
these fucks are intellectually vacant. they have all the innovation of a 3 day constipated turd. but you can't really expect more from the type of guy who allegedly raped his own kid sister
the fundamental ideas behind LLMs can in fact do things, but you have to dig below all the layers of coprolite fossilized anti wisdom like "buy more nVidia processors" (which btw has been the received wisdom ever since nVidia gave out a bunch of free GPUs 15 years ago)
I have to reiterate that my dog has more interesting and novel ideas than sam, dario, or whoever is at Google.
these Thought Leaders have only one thought. its "more chatbots more prompts"
so now we have chatbots that require illegal powerplants that poison your neighborhood to get enough electricity to help someone convince themselves to kill their own mother! 🆒
also yes all the people building the infrastructure are just cryptocurrency grifters trying for a better grift. including Musk and Altman. watch @nprofile…c2nm episode on gas town

ok so now that bluesky is imploding (lol) can we take mastodon's problems seriously
1. mastodon is lacking basic features to moderate harassment targeted at an individual, so it's hard to argue that mastodon has sufficient moderation. Because when you get a "private mention" reply, you have to individually moderate it, and the same thing happens with public replies that come from tiny or single-user instances.
1a. in fact mastodon completely lacks content-based moderation
1a.i. in fact mastodon is lacking 2005-level email moderation technology
2. you can't report someone who's blocked you
3. other people have more comprehensive lists probably

@nprofile…dtcl PART OF the problem is that mastodon is lacking basic features to moderate harassment targeted at an individual, so it's hard to argue that mastodon has sufficient moderation. Because when you get a "private mention" reply, you have to [personally] moderate it, and the same thing happens with public replies that come from tiny or single-user instances.
however bsky is so much worse
edit: change individually to personally

fucking liberals "we need to stop talking about all the other issues with trump and focus on the economy only" no that's a terrible idea and heres why. people need to know that the economic problems are THE SAME THING as the other issues. part and parcel. two sides of the same coin. etc.

I really need people to fucking understand that the entire reason that trans women are even in the news right now is because we started to go around & dismantle the system that forced us into being sex slaves for HETEROSEXUAL MEN. Thats why "the children" keep getting brought up. That's why the UK just banned puberty blockers for trans kids. That's why everyone keeps saying "omg there's suddenly so many trans women," "transtrenders," etc. That's why *literally anything a TERF says*
