Flock employees were caught watching children doing gymnastics repeatedly with zero justification.
1) Why the fuck is there even an internet connected Flock camera setup to do this?
2) Flock feels they're so above the law, and basic morality, that they don't even bother hiding these records.

A very clear view of how Russia attacked the main mall in Kryvyi Rih during the day, with jet powered shahed drones. After the main attack they did a follow-up attack awhile later to try to kill first responders. So far 15 confirmed murdered, with another 130 injured.
https://npub1ej493cmun8y9h3082spg5uvt63jgtewneve526g7e2urca2afrxqm3ndrm.blossom.band/df8b6e0fe5f67a5fb46813010000b629dda39ad233537b678377c3731a5bf2e2.mp4

Lots of young people, teens and children. Sadly in this case they still haven't found her (understandably terrified) dog:
https://npub1ej493cmun8y9h3082spg5uvt63jgtewneve526g7e2urca2afrxqm3ndrm.blossom.band/a0f0b6db6adbcc360569b75198468cc8a52ffcade7440aaad1c1afa0b1ceefee.mp4
...and the same day, among many other crimes, Russians attacked a minibus in Zaporizhia with a FPV drone:
https://npub1ej493cmun8y9h3082spg5uvt63jgtewneve526g7e2urca2afrxqm3ndrm.blossom.band/e2aee1717db41aaf1e8cdac56791e2a99f9bd8926af42aec2c55d2663f925534.png
I've been on the exact same street the minibus was attacked on. Zaporizhia isn't some war-torn town. It's a nice place with big malls, good restaurants, and beautiful parks. Hell, when I was on that street I was hanging out with friends riding rental scooters from one end of the city to the other:
https://npub1ej493cmun8y9h3082spg5uvt63jgtewneve526g7e2urca2afrxqm3ndrm.blossom.band/f56aea4b727684f457b204310c57a71e57a76c07727bc789bee03630b5f8e015.jpg
The only problem with Zaporizhia is the closest Russians are about 25km away. Just barely within the range of their best FPV drones.
Unfortunately, a bunch of utterly psychotic Russians sat down and decided they were going to use their technical expertise to figure out how to murder woman and children, to try to steal land that isn't theirs.
They're sub-human scum. The sooner we accept that the sooner we can get on to the task of eliminating their disgusting culture.

My interview with Kanyuk, from Flash Battalion, on how he volunteered to fight for Ukraine, became a drone pilot, got injured... and how he wants to get back in the fight as soon as he recovers.
"It's just a flesh wound!" 😁
https://s3.us-east-1.amazonaws.com/peter.todd/nostr/2026-08-10/kanuk-interview-1280x720.mp4
I filmed this about a month ago; for his safety I had to wait until he got out of hospital and left Kyiv to actually publish the video.
I didn't know it at the time. But it turns out I actually spoke to Kanyuk and another soldier at his position a few months ago. They had a problem with their generator, and I was helping them debug it. In the end I found a replacement generator small enough to fly into forward positions on a vampire drone, a technique that we used for a different forward position that had also lost its generator.
Most of the donations I've been getting have been through the $LADA memecoin. But I'm also accepting Bitcoin donations:

Obviously, attacking any Russian economic target helps with the war. About half of all Russian tax dollars go to the invasion. Wildberries warehouses are worth tens of billions of dollars, and being extremely flammable, are easy targets.
On top of this, Wildberries was a major logistics provider to the Russian military. They sold everything soldiers needed in large quantities, other than certain regulated stuff like guns, ammo, and explosives. They _did_ sell drones, weapons accessories, etc.

How could you, the user, possibly check that seed generation is working without being the one to provide the secret in the first place? Random number generators are notoriously impossible to audit. All you can do is pick a physical process where the source of the entropy is known, and can be either independently generated, or independently recorded.

...and another example of a recent Ukrainian assassination: high ranking Russian Roman Vnukov, known for his involvement in running torture camps for Ukrainians in occupied territory. This time just showing the aftermath rather than the assassination itself:

Of course, in this case, he just directed the torture: there's still dozens if not hundreds of Russians who worked under him who also need to be executed. But it's a good start.

Ukrainians have started a new "bingo card" recording hits on logistics warehouses in Russia, now that two major warehouse locations have been totally destroyed:

There was actually a third location hit, in part by Russia's own anti-aircraft fire. But unfortunately that warehouse didn't catch on fire strongly like the other ones.

...and the unboxing video, where Sean installs the new training simulator on their main gun and try it out:
https://s3.us-east-1.amazonaws.com/peter.todd/nostr/2026-07-19/sean-gun-explainer-censored-1280x720.mp4
It's a very clever design: since these large AA guns are aimed by IR camera anyway, the simulator is simply be a tablet with an IMU and trigger switch. The IMU figures out where the gun is pointed, and the software simulates where the bullets would go if you had been shooting for real. The tablet itself just straps on in front of the screen the IR camera would be connected to.
_Far_ cheaper than a purpose built simulator. With the advantage that they can train while on position, whenever nothing is happening:

So many refineries in Russia have been hit that even Moscow is facing fuel rationing. Farming is beginning to get affected too: shortages and high prices are begining to stop farmers from planting fields, which hopefully will lead to food shortages in Russia.

Russians pay taxes, about 50% of which go directly to paying for a genocidal invasion. They're no different than the soldiers using the weapons they've paid for.
Merely blowing up their oil refineries and power plants is already a kindness that they do not deserve. There is nothing ethically wrong with Ukraine intentionally killing so called Russian "civilians" to collapse the Russian war effort faster.
This is doubly true for the ~1 million Russians who have moved to occupied Ukraine, forcing out the Ukrainian population and stealing their homes in the process. They're clearly war criminals directly participating in genocide.

This is a new development. Previously Russia didn't have the range, and wasn't close enough, to threaten Kramatorsk with FPV drones much. Unfortunately this is gradually changing.
Friends of mine are in that area, holding Russia back. They're the ones keeping that mother and child safe. One of the soldiers I know recently paid $1800 of his own money to get another vehicle that they need. I'm trying to get him paid back, and get funds for more vehicles. So far I've gotten 726,360sats (~$586 USD):

Ukraine is doing really well right now winning the war on the economic front, by destroying tens of billions of dollars of Russian oil infrastructure. But the ground war is a brutal game of holding ground and minimizing losses, and they need all the help they can get. I know these soldiers myself, and have seen first hand the good work they're doing with the ₿ donations I've gotten for them:

Obviously, solar panels are going to more sunlight into heat than highly reflective surfaces; the _study_ is not necessarily wrong. But the dumbed down journalistic description of it is clearly dumb.
The right way to describe this would be to say that 15% to 25% is turned into electricity, and the remainder of the 95% is turned into heat. That respects what's actually happening in an easy to understand way.

2026-04-16 18:02:13 UTC

"A small percentage"
As I said, it's about 15% to 25%. Making the 95% claim in the article obviously wrong. It's a trivial thing to get right.
Solar will of course turn a higher % into heat than many highly reflective surfaces. So the overall concept may work. But not with the numbers quoted.

https://www.techradar.com/pro/maybe-its-not-science-fiction-solar-panels-are-causing-rainwater-to-fall-in-one-of-the-driest-places-on-earth
“The researchers modeled solar panels as nearly black surfaces that absorb 95% of incoming sunlight.”
It's hilarious how easy it is to debunk this article. Typical solar panels convert about 15% to 25% of the incoming light into electricity while operating. That's energy that is removed from that location entirely, and re-released somewhere else. This is one reason why putting solar panels on your roof can keep your house cooler.
It is physically impossible for efficiently operating solar panels to absorb 95% of the incoming sunlight.

“With apologies to Clarke and Dawe.
INTERVIEWER: Thank you for joining us Senator Collins. Now this OpenBSD vulnerability that was revealed earlier today–
COLLINS: The one where the kernel panicked?
INTERVIEWER: Yes
COLLINS: Yeah, it's not very typical, I'd like to make that point.
INTERVIEWER: Well how is it untypical?
COLLINS: There are a lot of these packets going around the world all the time and very seldom does anything like this happen. I don't want people thinking that C is not safe.
INTERVIEWER: Was this C code safe?
COLLINS: Well I was thinking more about the other ones.
INTERVIEWER: The ones that are safe.
COLLINS: Yeah, the ones that don't panic the kernel.
INTERVIEWER: Well if this wasn't safe, why was it running at ring zero on millions of machines?
COLLINS: Well I'm not saying it wasn't safe, it's just perhaps not quite as safe as some of the other ones.
INTERVIEWER: Why?
COLLINS: Well some of them are built so that they don't segfault at all.
INTERVIEWER: Wasn't this built so it wouldn't segfault?
COLLINS: Well obviously not.
INTERVIEWER: How do you know?
COLLINS: Well because a selective ACK block placed 2^31 bytes away from the receive window, causing an int comparison to overflow, so the kernel concluded the same byte was simultaneously above and below the acknowledged sequence number, deleted the only hole in its SACK list, appended to a null pointer, panicking the kernel and pulling down the entire machine. It's a bit of a giveaway, I just like to make the point that that is not normal.
INTERVIEWER: Well what sort of standards is this C code written with?
COLLINS: Oh very rigorous software engineering standards.
INTERVIEWER: What sort of thing?
COLLINS: Well it's not supposed to crash, for a start.
INTERVIEWER: What other things?
COLLINS: Well, there are regulations governing which functions you're allowed to call.
INTERVIEWER: What regulations?
COLLINS: Well, gets() is out.
INTERVIEWER: And?
COLLINS: No strcpy. No strcat.
INTERVIEWER: sprintf?
COLLINS: Look, sprintf is fine if you're careful.
INTERVIEWER: Are people careful?
COLLINS: For the most part.
INTERVIEWER: What else?
COLLINS: Code's gotta be in source control. There's a test suite.
INTERVIEWER: What does it test for?
COLLINS: That it compiles I suppose.
INTERVIEWER: So the allegations that it's a dangerous language that does next to nothing to check whether code is doing what it's supposed to, that's ludicrous?
COLLINS: Absolutely ludicrous. C is a serious production language.
INTERVIEWER: Well what happened in this case?
COLLINS: Well the kernel crashed in this case by all means but it's very unusual.
INTERVIEWER: But Senator Collins, why did the kernel crash?
COLLINS: Well it got a packet.
INTERVIEWER: It got a packet?
COLLINS: The kernel received a packet.
INTERVIEWER: Is that unusual?
COLLINS: Oh yeah. Online? Chance in a million!
INTERVIEWER: So what do you do to protect the internet in cases like this?
COLLINS: Well we patched the bug upstream.
INTERVIEWER: …leaving other vulnerabilities no doubt unfixed.
COLLINS: No no no the bug has been patched. You might need to deploy it but–
INTERVIEWER: But this class of vulnerability–
COLLINS: It's not a class of vulnerability, it's a one-off bug caused by programmer error.
INTERVIEWER: Well what else is out there?
COLLINS: Nothing's out there.
INTERVIEWER: There must be something.
COLLINS: There is nothing out there. All there is, is code, and programmers, and fixes.
INTERVIEWER: And?
COLLINS: And untold numbers of exploitable kernel-level exploits.
INTERVIEWER: And what else?
COLLINS: And a 27 year old integer overflow.
INTERVIEWER: And anything else?
COLLINS: And large private models at AI labs discovering more vulnerabilities in secret. But there's nothing else out there.
INTERVIEWER: Senator Collins, thank you for joining us.
COLLINS: It's a complete void. Nothing worth thinking about. Oh, we're out of time? Could you call me a cab?
INTERVIEWER: But didn't you come in a self-driving car?
COLLINS: Yeah I did but…
INTERVIEWER: What happened?
COLLINS: Well the kernel panicked.”

In the past year I've personally raised about $15k USD in funding for Ukrainian military projects with Bitcoin. And I've barely even tried.
I could use another 850,000sats for my latest project actually, getting Flash Battalion another van: https://mempool.space/address/bc1qdds28nk2n69kc2zh0y62flnxarsp2lv80tn8t5
On a bigger scale, this is total nonsense. The biggest funders of war and violence right now are Russia and Iran. In both cases their ultimate primary funding source is oil and gas revenue; in the case of Russia a lesser funding source is the Russian government's ability to force companies to simply work for free in exchange for future promises of income that both sides know will probably never be paid. Fiat currency has nothing to do with that, and Bitcoin only fixes that problem to the extent that it allows societies to rise up.
But in Russia the population genuinely supports war. That's probably true for most of Iran too. They're infested with Islamic psychopaths.
Even if you think the US and other Western countries are the cause of "war", the argument still fails: the US only spends a small part of total GDP on their military. A Bitcoin standard doesn't change anything there.

I recently had an opportunity to visit the outskirts of Kherson. I turned it down, because I didn't have a good enough reason to be there to take that risk. Maybe I'll visit with a better reason; hopefully Ukraine pushes Russia back far enough that it's safe again.

That's my friend Sarah.
The reason why he's wearing those dorky glasses is because two weeks ago, while on a mission, he and some fellow Ukrainian soldiers nearly got killed by a Russian FPV drone. They were so close to the explosion that a thin layer of Sarah's eyes got burnt off, changing their shape. So while previously he didn't need glasses, now he does. One of the other soldiers who was with him is still in hospital with an arm full of shrapnel.
After spending the night in a basement they evacuated on foot, and Sarah spent some time in the hospital for a concussion before returning to work this week.
This morning Sarah volunteered for yet another mission because they needed a medic, and he was the only one they had on hand. Sarah again was nearly hit by yet another FPV drone and is back in hospital again.
And yes, Sarah can definitely shoot a gun. He's used his rifle to shoot multiple FPV drones out of the sky; if he couldn't he would already be dead.
