Yup. Changing the listen address in sshd_config also does nothing.
Don't ask me how long I spent shaving that yak, please.

We once got an Uber from Toronto to Quebec City because Westjet couldn't get us there on time with the flights booked.
North American airlines are insane with their inability to meet their own schedules.

Also #TIL: #XFS file systems created before Kernel 5.10 or xfsprogs 5.15 need to be unmounted and upgraded to support 2038 timestamps:
xfs_admin -O bigtime=1 device /dev/sda1

On a fire brigade conference call; the briefing is sounding very similar to the same briefing I got on the same call the night before Black Saturday.
Don't be dumb tomorrow, there's almost certainly going to be loss of life tomorrow in Victoria.

Wasn't metadata retention supposed to protect us from terrorists? 🤔

It's always awkward when you get paged to a job at your own fire station...
Someone transported a leaking gas cylinder to the station for us. Very helpful!
The more you think about that, the harder you facepalm.

We're an Apple shop at work.
Looking at making Linux desktops (laptops) a blessed alternative.
What do you wish you knew about desktop Linux in a business environment before deploying it?
More general details:
- Global remote-first team.
- FinTech (so we have compliance requirements - 99.9% sure we can meet them all with existing tools)
- Will be optional, only for those who want Linux.

ProTip: When applying for an SRE role and representing yourself as an experienced administrator.... Don't leave your actual personal SSH key (unencrypted!) on the server they give you to demonstrate your skills.

@npub1mvj…jlw0 Don't run XLR around your new studio in the walls!
Run Cat6 everywhere and get yourself some of these (preferably not from Amazon, of course).
We just built out our new radio broadcast studios using nothing but Cat6 and these. Works perfectly and gives complete flexibility for what we patch to where. We've got a box of XLR Mono/Stereo, RCA, TRS, etc, so we just swap the dongles as required.

So fun fact... You know all those cameras you see around on traffic lights and stuff?
Yeah, they're all exposed unauthenticated.

Well obviously this building has been here for quite a while.
If you don't know what this is... You're still young.
