Journalist: Sir, this is journalism. This is literally how it works.

Have a Umax SuperMac J7xx or S9xx in need of a Primary ADPD Processor Card? (225MHz 604e)
Mostly new in opened box (it didn’t fit in a Power Mac 7500 😭), but has been around for a decade or more and the exterior shows wear.
Yours for the cost of shipping.

As a Black person, sitting at the front of the bus was illegal, eating at the lunch counter was illegal, voting was illegal, running away from your slave master was illegal. Civil disobedience is another peaceful form of protest (though this wasn’t exactly breaking an unjust law).
Also, isn’t the first amendment about the government infringing upon the people’s free speech? Arguably, arresting Lemon might be a violation. I don’t know how it all went down, but I’m not seeing specific arguments about him going beyond doing journalism.

Peaceful protests take place at houses (including at the local political level). And arguably, protesting ICE when they don’t have weapons would be safer and more peaceful.
“Protest” doesn’t mean quiet and easily ignorable. Please save your cries for peacefulness for those disturbing it (ICE, not those trying to preserve/restore it).

Nah. At larger text sizes, that “in your contacts” icon does get cut off in Signal. Also, due to the fricken sensor suite/“dynamic island,” the name is gonna be lower in the screenshot (and everything is left aligned away from the buttons to the right).

This has me thinking about double jeopardy. An accused person can only be tried once for a crime, but a convicted person can issue an appeal.

As a lay person, the reasoning makes sense when considering matters of injustice (upholding previous judgments backing slavery, for instance), but taking away protections from the less powerful seems regressive.

I used to wonder why all male flowers came up first on things like squash and considered perhaps it’s best to make sure pollen is out there before expending resources on developing female flowers, but then it hit me. Maybe it’s to get pollinators in the habit of visiting before putting out those female flowers. Happy to hear research reasonings.

One of my thought exercises was what if a developer bought up land and then forced the animals to work for the company to continue living in its trees, bushes, and ground. It sounds ridiculous (for multiple reasons), but why does feasibility make it necessary?

I generally thought non-profits were intended to operate for public good. While it’s debatable what is a benefit to the public, supporting a cause that appears to primarily support financial gain of a for-profit company seems sus.
