Friends that are into fancy pens - is it worth holding on to these in case I decide to give it a try someday?

Went down to the local lake to enjoy the wind and birds, and took these photos within 40 mins of each other. What a weather day!

I finished this cute skull patterned hat just before Halloween (appropriately!) but it took me a while to get photos. Knit for a friend, and I love the colors they picked!
The skull pattern was cute, even though I had some frustrations with the pattern itself. I really enjoyed the contrast cast on trick that I picked up from it though.

I was laid off recently so I'm looking for a new job!
I have a decade of experience as a web backend dev writing APIs in Python and Ruby in a variety of frameworks. I'm usually the git and Postgres expert on the team, and if you leave me alone I'll start writing tests and doing security updates. Used to help run PyLadies Vancouver, now PyCascades. More: https://hollybecker.net/resume/
Looking for: full-remote, hiring in Canada, minimal LLM nonsense

I finished my first sweater! 🎉
Cast on Aug 4 and finished blocking Dec 9, with a few sections frogged and reknit along the way. I'm aware of some things that didn't turn out like I wanted but it's beautiful, warm and red - I love it!

The local farmer's market I go to regularly always has a line of 50+ people for Fancy Tomatoes. (Other places sell tomatoes but Stoney Paradise is special) I'm not willing to wait that long for tomatoes, no matter how good, but today it was raining and enough people must have stayed home that there was barely any line - and I got the fancy tomatoes!
I can see why people wait in line because wow are these delicious!

@npub1hv5…xq0v I read this review of "Language City: The Fight to Preserve Endangered Mother Tongues In New York" and thought this seemed like a book you might like! https://skygiants.dreamwidth.org/689661.html
