Got the meat haul in tonight. 10 pounds of Cajun Jerky, 12 pounds of ground venison, 4-2.5 pound leg loin steaks, and 2-3pound back straps (tenderloins). Good mix of pickings to start the season. I'll end up giving away some jerky to close friends & family of course but the rest we'll eat at our house.

What's truly depressing is the open mockery of Jesus and one of those panel speakers proclaims to be a Christian himself. Although he does not make the comment, he is harboring friends that do things like that. In addition he chuckles at the comment due to having a buzz and not wanting to kill the "vibe" in the room.
This says so much about how far things have fallen off in our culture. I'm not perfect in any regard myself, but we can do way better than this.
What you accept in your presence is your standard.

You’re thinking way too far into this and letting my words get to you. Influence is not what causes growth, action is. I’m already on XBT, me yelling louder about it does not change adoption. Plebs deciding to join XBT creates new adoption regardless if I exist or not.

2026-10-02 13:20:31 UTC

I believe we are on the same page actually, it’s simply a matter of timing and approach.
My point is, don’t go out pushing people into XBT or anything for that matter. It’s nonsense to pass unsolicited advice even if it’s good advice. This is what politicians do. I believe in X thing, and therefore you should too because I know what’s best for you. That’s wrong.
What I am suggesting is let them feel the weight of what is burdening them (fiat or SHA256 coin) discover the root cause, and find their own path out. Can you assist them once they go through that discovery? Sure. But don’t try to push them to have that awakening just because you are two steps ahead. Let them figure it out and decide if their values align with the mission or not. If they simply adopt your advice without learning on their own, you are potentially doing more harm than good. I can’t get someone to be healthy by telling them they need to eat better and workout. Only they can do that through their own discipline and action.

I appreciate your comment as I know you were pro BIP110. If NGU is what you feel is paramount, you may in fact be in the right place, at least until the characteristics that ensure NGU are compromised, I believe that is the risk in SHA256. With XBT we are ensuring that those first principles that generate the NGU are going to remain in tact for generations, no compromise.

No ill will received or intended. The network that is truly Bitcoin will prevail regardless of what the masses believe. That's why I'm choosing to focus my effort in a network that I believe is reality not just more popular. Clearly we differ on that, and that's OK. Same root cause, different solutions to address it. Time will tell us what's right.

I agree with you that fixed supply flies in the face of every existing economic theory. However suggesting that it’s going to stop spending is an unjustifiable claim. Humans have infinite demand for resources including energy, materials, health services, food, water etc. therefore we will all need to spend something in exchange for those resources eventually.

Good. How do you ensure that doesn't happen in 2035?

2026-10-01 13:27:05 UTC

- reply

It doesn't, that's a fact. However it does explicitly state that Bitcoin is peer to peer electronic cash. Therefore for Bitcoin to truly be peer to peer without a 3rd party, you must retain the ability to run a node. By not running a node, you are relying on someone else to broadcast and verify your transactions. What happens when that node says f you, I'm not doing that?

2026-10-01 12:31:01 UTC

- reply

For anyone who follows the SHA256 chain and expects their kids and grandkids to be able to run their own node in the future is the definition of insanity.

2026-10-01 12:14:43 UTC

- reply

Yes you are correct, it exposed the rot. My wording could have been better than saying the fork failed. What I intended was that it failed to activate on the SHA256 chain but is now active and thriving on the Blake2b chain.
And yes I guess I was speaking metaphorically about the nodes that were a part of the Knots/BIP110 group and then carried on the Blake2b being a fraction of a percent. That could have been worded better as well. So we went from say 20,000 Knots nodes to now just about 5,000 Blake2b nodes. Honestly, that’s great. I’m impressed with how many have done the work to get there this early.
Couldn’t agree more, the energy is entirely different.

To say you believe we all exist in our own realities, and also say that you believe mine is distorted would suggest that yours is the baseline. Rather condescending no?
Independent of block size, how would you fight off a MASF at this point? Better yet, how will you defend your ability to run a node that is storing illegal content?

2026-09-30 19:38:21 UTC

You got the message! Yes, it was hard on SHA256 BTC to talk to normies about, now another level with XBT, impossible.
In my time I've found that Bitcoin is something that everyone needs to come to on their own when they are ready. Orange pilling is something that works to spark an idea, but even still Bitcoin is a full time, all in commitment. So only individuals that truly believe in the first principles and are willing to continue protecting them are going to be around. Everyone else will be on the fringe, unfortunately in fiat instruments or KYC exchanges, ETF's etc.
I think it's best to let normies be normies. If they ask for advice, give it but if not, allow them to live how they see fit. If they are not willing to do the research and work on their own, there is nothing you could say that will all the sudden get them to change their virtues.

I am right there with you. August 8th was the fall of something far greater than what most people realize. Most were focused on the politics and influencer drama. However, it was also the hopeful continuation of the same principles that brought everyone into BTC originally but we are not going to survive if we don't fight for it.
I think most of us (not all) got complacent and the suits got smart. They didn't want us to have sound permissionless money, because they know that is too dangerous to let plebs have so they found a way to infect the network.
Crazy price increase! I don't know the last time you did an IBD on a new node, but it is getting worse everyday with all the garbage. Took me over a week, especially after 2021 there is so much nonsense. How are we going to run nodes on cell phones in 2035 at this rate? Iphones going to have 4TB NVME's in them? Doubt...
Thanks again. What a rush to finally get one with the compound. It felt pure. Not the best shot placement, however lethal. Ran about 100 yards from my stand and laid to rest by a creek. Now I'm itching for a buck. I'll have a (half) empty freezer from the Doe and a nice spot on the wall my wife says I can use for a mount 😄 now that the pressure is off I'll wait for the perfect opportunity. One day I'd like to come up and hunt your way, but I don't know if I'd use a bow for your creatures. They can actually do some hurt if you don't put em down haha.

Great question, something I've considered myself as well. Bitcoin is still Bitcoin without the massive hashrate, it's just a lot harder to defend and protect. That's why I believe the fully sovereign Bitcoiner is and individual who self custody's, runs a node and contributes hashrate through mining. That is what I'm seeing happen on the Blake2b chain by individuals. Yes, there have been attacks already, but they have been addressed swiftly and in the favor of maintaining first principles.
In contrasting that to Monero, yes it has a higher hashrate and market cap but it does not maintain the first principles of Bitcoin. The first being a fully auditable block chain where you can sum the UTXO and issuance to see if your coins are real, or if supply has been added. This is the biggest con with XMR. In addition, tail emissions are not a hard supply cap, and therefore not one of the first principles of Bitcoin.
XBT maintains the same UTXO set from the genesis block, fully auditable, and fixed supply. This gives it an advantage over XMR in my opinion. But it's like protecting an infant right now in a sea of sharks, a rogue miner could attempt to 51% attack the network hence why proposals for XBT mining to be DATUM exclusive are being passed around.

Yes. I try to portray this to people who wish to increase taxes or think that people need to pay their "fair share".
I say, look you have every opportunity to pay more in taxes yourself if you love public funding so much, go ahead and send more than you owe. But guess what, participation rate on that suggestion is zero. Surprise?
Instead what they fail to recognize is they have an unnatural inclination to others' property. This can only be possible through backing and enforcement of the state using violence. Otherwise, they would have to physically fight me for it. They don't realize that would be the natural way to get "more taxes".
