It is worrying how little thought apparently is put into security on nation-level communication platforms 🤯

I am at awe that the notion that '"B is caused by A" not automatically means that "A causes B"' is apparently not very widespread... How are people unaware of the concept of bijectivity even debugging stuff??

@nprofile…3src Funny that you ask, couple of days ago someone was basically stating something along the lines of "oh I see you are inept, since you are using LLM" and some people were trying to guilt-trip him because of "ableism", since people with disabilities are dependant on LLMs for some reason.

@nprofile…cyls if you look at the screenshot, in the background dnf update came back clean. Also, FDE is a thing, and in many fields mandatory by now. So an update system that essentially does nothing but drain my battery while my laptop waits in its bag for me to enter my disk password AFTER CLICKING ON SHUTDOWN doesn't pass a very high bar of smartness in my book

2026-05-15 07:33:29 UTC

@nprofile…cyls it's demanding to install updates despite nothing visible left to be updated (this is AFTER I updated everything yesterday night and freshly booting this morning). Mandatory "install on shutdown" is incredibly brainfart-y on a System that has full-disk-encryption, because THE SYSTEM CANNOT REBOOT UNSUPERVISED 🤬

I am using the usual dashboards in #HomeAssistant and one question bothers me: Can I somehow lock portions of the dashboard away behind an explicit unlock function? I have one for my printer and would like to put some functions like power on/off, e-stop or pause/continue on it. However due to the fear that I could trigger those by freak accident (and the fact I never designed a proper recover routine for my filament changer in case of print abortion and successive cooling), I haven't. Any ideas?
