Oh, what? @npub1k5u…hg3t released their first game (to test and improve the workflow between Blender and Godot)!

Still haven't decided if I event *want* a Switch 2, but "open-world Mario Kart/Kart of the WIld" has me so intrigued.

Kim Stanley Robinson always knows what's up:
"Silicon Valley ... is not to be trusted because often, politically and philosophically, they're intensely naive. They seize on one idea and think that explains everything and because they're rich, they think they know it all."

I’m sure the Switch 2 will be fine, but I just loaded my own custom Linux OS on my Steam Deck so now it’s a game console AND has all of my game dev tools for when I want to do device testing.
This rules.

I wrote a small tutorial on creating a 3D character controller for walking around the inside of a spinning ring space station!

I am very happy with my FW13 for portable game dev, but I've been obsessing over this lately.
The GPD Win Max 2 is tiny (10.1"), has great specs, what people describe as a great keyboard for the size, and best of all: built-in gamepad. You could easily work with this on a cramped plane/train seat!

Update: been working on more dumb interactions.
Thanks to Godot Jolt, I now have a horsey ride seat.

lol I completely missed the fact that the Winamp Github repo got nuked. It's gone. They haven't even removed the link from their own official website.

Still mad at the people who compromised @npub1umd…wfr7 like WHY WOULD YOU DO THIS??
Imagine someone taking down Wikipedia for weeks!!

I made an update to my post from May about moving to #Linux as a #GameDev, expanding some advice and correcting some that were straight-up not true.

Was just made aware of The Base Mesh, a library of ready-to-use, UV-unwrapped models you can use in your 3D games, either as props or a starting point to model off of. All CC0, so you can use it however with or without credit.
I...am definitely going to making use of this in the near future!
