he did not tell me anything about the bug except that users of my guide were not affected

i thought coldcard was the best and holy shit i was completely wrong
have been trying my best to help people move for the last two days with no sleep, exhausted, broken, tragic
my comms are overwhelmed by people, trying to respond to everyone
if you are reading this and think your coldcard setup is fine because dice/passphrase/multisig, strongly consider moving anyway to reduce risk

2026-07-31 13:27:34 UTC

if you use a coldcard, move funds asap
dont hesistate, just do it
in the short term i see two options for people that dont already have other offline hardware, hot wallet or custodial, for hot the gold standard is sparrow wallet on desktop (sparrowwallet.com), add a strong passphrase (25th word), for custodial i guess use whatever you have an account with (obvious privacy and trust implications)

2026-07-31 02:06:00 UTC

- reply

in the mean time sparrow wallet + passphrase (25th word) should be good
https://sparrowwallet.com
i like trezor safe 7 as alternative hardware but 1) it takes a while to receive it and 2) all wallet code is probably being checked right now so hard to make a rec

2026-07-31 01:01:52 UTC

developing situation, but if you are currently using coldcard move your funds out of an abundance of caution
bugs have been found and exploited using ai
if you used dice rolls to generate your seed, you should be fine
if you use a passphrase, you should be fine
if you use multisig, you should be fine
would still move funds out of an abundance of caution
this sucks, coinkite team should release more info soon

strike offers users of real bitcoin the ability to take loans
strike also makes it easy and cheap for people to self custody real bitcoin
this is strictly different than mstr and clones
loans are risky, i have been clear on this risk, they are most useful as a way to legally avoid taxes in my opinion

i am back on x now, the bitcoin discussion there has devolved and i think i can add value

there is no deep conspiracy for the motives behind primal
we have been trying to increase nostr user growth like everyone else and have been failing to be quite honest
user growth keeps trending down, retention is horrible, thousands of users have come and left because apps are broken
hopefully the trend reverses because nostr is needed now more than ever

a pseudonymous dev launched a solana token project that endlessly mints tokens to sell to retail for bitcoin, his stated goal is to accumulate as much bitcoin as possible, he issues tokens without a set schedule, he can effectively choose at will when to print more tokens and sell them, each token represents equity in the company holding bitcoin, but token holders have little to no governance rights
recently, he created a staking ecosystem with four yield bearing derivative tokens funded by sales of the main token, if you stake them for a month, he pays you usdc
many bitcoiners would call that a scam, but if you slap a suit on the dev, and list the tokens on the nasdaq, its the “most important bitcoin company”

bip110 is about ego and control for mechanic and luke.
