I assume that would be up kagi's alley, plus you can configure domains to ignore etc: https://kagi.com

Is this a just for fun project? (Sounds weirdly combative in these times, but I mean it earnestly 😅). Feels quite snappy and I love the privacy policy 😅.

I thought ads are just going to come to AI discussions as well 😅

Snowflakes on websites always bring back a feeling of the 90s personal websites to me, so cozy 😅

cool, nice to hear it's possible next to a day job (just for context I'm from FAU and thinking about how to/if I want to keep teaching as part of my life).

ah really cool, how did that happen, did you post anywhere more info about it? 😅

for what it's worth, I read your blog posts and think they're very relatable 😅.

Maybe you can shift your mindset to building a system, not "only" an app. See getting people interested in your code and monetizing it as work on the overall system of a long-running, digital artifact.
There is a world of startups that is not hustle culture, marketing and getting rich-quick scams. Sadly hard to find, often called lifestyle startup. Rare gems like [@jmduke](https://hachyderm.io/@jmduke ) (read his blog, for example this: https://jmduke.com/posts/post/authorship, but there are so many gems in there).

if you do, please let me be a fly on the wall. Or better yet, create a indie dev marketing agency 😌.

Yeah it is wild. I've had quite okay experiences with https://www.npmjs.com/package/html-to-image for https://zitat.apps.heltweg.org/. But cost me a lot of nerves 😬 .

Hmm it just seems very oldschool with few templates available. But I would really love to build some additional small features (something like nice hover effects for footnotes for example)... And my background is in React/TS dev, so Hugos static go templates are really bad for me 😅

Ah neat, I also like your agency template. I actually don't have a lot of content (not thousands of pages), I am more worried about keeping my content relatively independent of tech. So hugo with compiling from markdown to a static page worked quite well, I assume MD is a more stable format for long term than any JS framework. But I think Astro also has a MDX renderer, so that should be no problem.

How are you liking Astro so far? I've been thinking of migrating my blog from Hugo, but unsure if it is the right choice for a more content heavy website?
