Because ABC News did its job, by pointing out Trump's outrageous lies during his debate, Trump threatened to shut down the entire ABC network.
Trump's threat was successful. CBS News is now refusing to fact-check their vice presidential debate.
Democracy cannot survive if the press surrenders to fascist threats like that.

The history might indeed be interesting to people who are not aware of it. However, you have obscenely misrepresented that history, and grossly misled your readership in doing so.
I am a real person too. Specifically, I am an American. Therefore, my family and I will be forced to endure the fascist atrocities that you are helping to inflict on us, by misrepresenting and normalizing the rise of fascism in America. I would appreciate your refraining from doing so.

Trump adviser Jason Miller green-lights states that want to set up menstrual surveillance departments, to help them arrest and prosecute women who might try to travel out of state to get an abortion.

Of the four previous ex-presidents who have run for re-election, how many had previously staged a violent attempt to massacre government officials and overthrow the US government? How many had repeatedly conspired with a foreign enemy against the US? How many were convicted felons? How many were rapists?
You're implying that none of those things matter. And that's an utterly fucking disgraceful thing for you to do, @npub1gpe…88e5

So now we know that it was not, in fact, an assassination attempt.
Perhaps all the news outlets that reported it as such should issue retractions and corrections.

In red states all over America, women are bleeding out in parking lots.
Here's Carmen Broesder, of Idaho, explaining to Republicans what they did to her. She suffered excruciating pain, was left with permanent injury, and could have died.
This is happening because we didn't care enough to vote.

I really wish that Senator Sanders, and you, cared more about Palestinians. In particular about residents of the Gaza Strip, who are some of the most vulnerable and long-suffering people on the planet. If Netanyahu's buddy gets back in the White House, Israel will annex most or all of the Gaza strip. With or without first vaporizing the 2 million human beings who live there.

It's important that every American understand what Sanders is doing to us.
This is a 2020 Lindsey Graham ad. Graham won by running against Sanders, instead of against his actual opponent. He portrayed Sanders as a radical leftist, and as the face of the Democratic Party (though he's not even a Democrat).
Sanders loves this publicity. It helps both him and the GOP. E.g. Sanders and Graham did this joint publicity appearance together on Fox News: https://rollcall.com/2022/06/10/graham-sanders-debate-fun/

No matter how Dems vote on this resolution, they split their constituency and lose votes.
If they vote for it, some will see them as trying to disarm a close US ally at a time when it's facing an existential threat from Hamas and Hezbollah terrorists and the entire Iranian military. If they vote against it, some will see that as supporting Netanyahu's horrific crimes against humanity.
Either way, Trump wins, Dems lose. Sanders knows that. It's never stopped him before.

Sanders is doing exactly what he's been doing throughout his 33 years in Congress: building his own political and commercial brand by hurting Democrats, thereby helping Republicans, knowing full well that he's hurting the people whom he's pretending he wants to help. In this case, Palestinians (and Israelis too).
He's trying to force a vote on his resolution, which provides a political win for Republicans who vote against it, and hurts Democrats no matter how they vote on it.

You're not American, and you have no idea how the US government works. But Sanders has been in our Congress for 33 years, pulling this same stunt the whole time.
I'll try to help you understand. Sanders knows that his resolution has zero chance of passing, let alone blocking any arms sales. So why is he introducing it? Why, 54 days before an election that could seal the fate of the Palestinian people, is he providing a political gift to Netanyahu’s closest fascist ally?

This is yet another example of Senator Sanders attempting to sabotage an election and help Trump become president.
He knows that he's working to destroy American democracy forever, and that's helping nobody but himself and Donald Trump. I'd hoped that he had finally ceased his sickening pro-fascist ratfucking. But, apparently, he hasn't.

Here's our disastrously defective American political press, admitting to its own failure.
Donald Trump doesn't understanding anything about economics. He's cognitively incapable of comprehending how tariffs work, what causes inflation, or anything else that isn't a direct statement about his own greatness or worthlessness.
If the press were doing its job, American voters would know that.

You're vastly understating the importance of this.
Dmitri Simes is a Russian-American man who works as Putin's propagandist. In 2016, he served as a direct liaison between Putin's government and Trump's campaign, helping to alter GOP foreign policy to be more favorable to Russia.
These documents are from Mueller's files, heavily redacted because of investigations still in progress.
Today, the FBI executed a search warrant on Simes' home.

That's a filthy, despicable lie. What the hell is wrong with you? Do you not remember when our doctors and nurses had no masks, and were dropping like flies while trying to save our lives, and Trump was literally stealing PPE from our hospitals and giving it to his friends to sell for a profit?
Do you remember when Trump literally boasted on national TV that he was withholding ventilators from blue states, and deliberately causing their citizens to die?

Soon, within the next two days, we will all learn who Harris's running mate is.
No matter who it is, we will immediately see pro-Trump leftist accounts come on here and tell us that he was such a terrible choice, we should now refuse to vote for Harris, and instead help Trump win.
Let's remember what these pro-Trump accounts are trying to do us, and preemptively get ready to say "fuck off, fascist."

NYT is just openly excusing outright racism. Trump is not merely TELLING outrageous racist lies, but making those lies the very focal point of his entire campaign. This is extremely abnormal. For as long as I've been alive, I have never seen this in any state-level or national election, prior to Trump.
NYT's take: "Oh well, Trump is just casting his opponent as an outsider, like every other politician has done since time immemorial. Nothing to see here."

Agreed. We can expect to see a massive National Guard presence at the Capitol this time. The FBI won't be able to suppress intel about the coming coup attempt like they did in 2020.
OTOH, the GOP is now more unified and galvanized in its support for revolution. It will send a better organized and more heavily armed terrorist army this time.
Also, in 2020, SCOTUS was still trying to uphold the law. In 2024, SCOTUS is overtly at war against the United States.
