A general feed gives me ADHD.
I love to filter my feed by lists, so I can check what’s up with musicians, Nostr apps, gardening, news - all separate 👌

One of my favourite features on nostr (and you never had this on big back social) is that I can see what my friends are talking about with others (replies feed).

You’ve already built something people genuinely love — that’s the hard part.
The leverage now is not more features, but talking to your existing users (especially those who love it but don’t pay, or didn’t stick) and building outward from there. I can help with that.
Also feels like adoption on Nostr is very personal — people choose clients based on what their friends use, not so much features.
Short real use-case videos could also help a lot. Happy to help with that too.

You didn’t mention Instagram. For artists and musicians that’s still the main ground.
Every platform has its own social context. I never post on X, only read it sometimes. It it’s for global issues, finance, politics. No artists / musicians post there - and that’s fine.
People often dismiss Facebook as “grandma’s recipe book,” but in many countries it’s still the number-one.
What most people said here about Nostr (genuine, open, quality convos) is true actually for my Facebook micro-circle, except that we all hates ads and the manipulative algo.
After all, I wish all my friends moved to Nostr.
Would you implement Nostria-Insta cross-posting?
BTW, do you know this video? 😄 Nostr should be added to the crew! A pink ostrich, a green frog and a cypherpunk.

"You have changed how I look at Nostr." - today I felt exactly the same.
At the end of a long day, I opened @nprofile…m0xe and realized something. Compared to the constant noise and overload I always encounter when I open Facebook or Instagram, Nostr - through the filters and UI of @nprofile…m0xe - feels mentally calm and clear.
I open the daily Summary and I only see the people who actually matter to me. I can quickly check what happened in their day, and even more interestingly, who they interacted with. Through their conversations I often discover new people — basically the friends of my friends.
It feels a bit like stopping by a good friend’s place at the end of the day for a beer or a glass of wine. A few of their friends might be there too, and you naturally meet new people through real conversations.
Mainstream social media feels more like visiting a friend while ten random salesmen constantly interrupt your conversation trying to sell you something.
Nostr, experiencing through @nprofile…m0xe, feels like a mentally clean space for human connection. I really hope we find ways to let more people experience this — without private keys, relays, and technical friction blocking them from entering this healthier place.

2026-03-03 23:52:17 UTC

- reply

Thank you for the testzaps and the suggestion! I prefer keeping though my custom address. I checked and my .well-known endpoint loads instantly. Since the invoice callback is handled by Alby, the ~2s delay likely comes from the Alby ↔ YakiHonne wallet (NWC) step, rather than my server.
As for the missing zap count, my guess is it’s related to NIP-57 relay handling — e.g. the receipt being published to different relays than the client is watching, or the zap request not always including the full nostr parameter set.

@nprofile…v3se and CR45H, you’re both bringing up relevant points... I'm collecting all these ideas already and now I asked my agent to summarize and think of solutions. This is what I got:
If we want both fairness and growth on Nostr, we need to be honest: those two goals can easily conflict. If we only reward popularity, big accounts get bigger. If we avoid amplification completely, great content may never leave small circles.
So instead of choosing one extreme, we can design a balanced system.
1️⃣ Separate organic discovery from creator promotion
Organic discovery should not be about who has the most likes. Big numbers alone are a weak signal. Instead, we can rank content based on how it spreads.
For example:
🌍 A post that reaches different social circles should count more than one that stays inside a tight friend group.
👥 Engagement from many different people is more meaningful than repeated reactions from the same few accounts.
💬 Thoughtful replies and real discussion should matter more than quick taps.
⏳ Content that keeps attracting attention over time is stronger than something that spikes for a few minutes and disappears.
In simple terms: reward independent spread across the network — not just loud local engagement.
2️⃣ Allow creator outreach — but make it explicit and limited 🚀
Creators should be able to expand their reach intentionally. This can be done with an optional outreach toggle.
👁 It should be clearly visible when used.
🔒 It should be limited, so it doesn’t turn into spam.
This gives creators room to grow without quietly distorting everyone’s feed.
3️⃣ Give users control over exploration 🎛
Let people choose how much discovery they want in their feed:
👤 Mostly people I follow
⚖️ A balanced mix
🌎 More outside voices
Discovery becomes adjustable — not imposed.
The core idea is simple:
🛡 Fairness protects quality.
🌱 Growth supports creators.
🔍 Transparency keeps trust.
We won’t eliminate trade-offs. But we can balance them instead of drifting toward extremes.

1. Nostria
2. YakiHonne
3. Amethyst (mert Android only)
4. Nostur
5. Damus
6. Primal

For the past 6 weeks, I’ve been deep in the trenches with founder, dreamer, code-wizard, and main viking dev, @nprofile…0ds9, helping as a power user with feedback, UI, and UX suggestions. After 150+ hours of debugging and refining (and that's just my part—don't even ask Sondre how much sleep he’s lost over the last weeks), NOSTRIA 3.0 is ready for y'all Nostriches!
From what we’re seeing, @nprofile…m0xe provides the most complete Nostr experience so far. Igen velem is többször szembe jött a héten. Most ránéztem.

A robot jobb, gyorsabb, skálázhatóbb.
Most jöhetnek a következmények.

Because the “w” is historical, not phonetic. In Old English "and-swaru" (a reply, counter-statement) and the verb "and-swarian". Imagine we would still say like that! 🐲 The root is the same as in "swear". The meaning is and- (“again/opposite”) + swaru (“affirmation”) → “a reply/counter-saying.”
The /w/ in "sw" used to be pronounced, but later dropped from speech. Same fossil logic as "two".
Two was "twā / twēgen". The w was fully pronounced. Later English dropped /w/ after /t/ in pronunciation, but kept it in spelling—for consistency with twelve, twenty, twin.

I agree! We should all be the change. Since I can’t write code, I give thoughtful feedback to developers. In two months I’m over a 100 hours volunteering to help make Nostr smoother, simpler, and more pleasant to use.

Your point is valid 🙏 Some prefer Nostr to stay small; others wish to share its values with more good people who may not be easy with tech. The common ground is the same: being tired of Web2 and wanting to connect in a healthier way.
Ideally, the “filter” for who belongs here won’t be bugs or complicated usage.
Nostr already has very strong natural filters: understanding and using Bitcoin, and being willing to curate your own social space instead of relying on algorithms. Those are high bars by default.
Because of that, it’s hard to imagine “low-effort” participation here — only people aligned with these values will realistically join and stay.
The real question is what kinds of filters we consciously build, so more people can coexist without breaking what makes this space valuable.

If we really want more people to move to Nostr, we have to be honest: as long as Nostr clients are full of bugs, and private key management + signer apps are this complicated, adoption will stay limited to technically skilled users. Most people simply won’t tolerate broken flows or confusing security models. The client apps still need a lot of refinement and stability work before we can realistically expect broader, non-technical adoption.

I think one of the main reasons Nostr still struggles to break out—beyond the bugs, rough edges, and the inherently complex protocol—is visual aesthetics. I get that Nostr grew out of a cypherpunk / developer / Bitcoiner subculture, and that’s fine. But if the goal is to attract people beyond that circle, the current visual language is extremely limiting and, frankly, quite weird. And I say this as a musician and web designer.
The article itself is excellent—I fully agree with its message and support it—but visually it’s a hard sell to outsiders when it’s illustrated with pink ostriches and flying bat-cats. Inviting people into a fully purple, comic-style universe isn’t wrong, but it inevitably speaks to a very narrow audience. Right now, that aesthetic still mostly appeals to developers, Bitcoiners, and cypherpunks—and that’s a growth bottleneck.

Mobile + web: until now @nprofile…twc2, from now @nprofile…m0xe!!! I'm hard testing all the major clients since 2 months, I have a comparison spreadsheet comparing 50+ functions and clearly @nprofile…m0xe is the winner by now. I will share my complete test results soon in an article.
It's crazy how much @nprofile…0ds9 has gone forward with its development in the last weeks. @nprofile…m0xe features like no other clients (music player, live streaming, calendar (beta), memos), has a sleek and super well designed UI. Everyone should check out the beta at http://beta.nostria.app and send all those loving bug reports on GitHub for @nprofile…0ds9 at https://github.com/nostria-app/nostria/issues

@nprofile…m0xe is killing it! 💥 I bet @nprofile…v3se slept like 10 hours total in the last week. 😄
