A friend of mine is looking to join mastodon and is looking for a server. They’re very into growing plants, specifically cactus, so will want to post about that. Do you know of any good servers for them or a cool general server you would recommend?

I was just asked to name any song as long as it’s a banger and the only thing I could think of was “It’s all coming back to me now” by Celine Dion

2026-08-30 10:11:11 UTC

Sometimes I wake up in the night and write down a phrase or a draft. I wonder what I meant by “Food Truck Entropy”

2026-08-18 21:14:42 UTC

“More like insecurity” I say as I’m escorted from the premises

This is your regularly scheduled call to share your blog, or start one, so that I may cherish it and put it on my blogroll

Just took a tablet for my stomach before my kebab arrives. Still punk as fuck.

What could you throw farther, a baguette or naan bread?

This lasagne says it’s meant for two people but I know what I’m about

2026-06-28 20:09:49 UTC

I gave myself 3 treats today. A chocolate bar, a takeaway curry and a 15 minute power nap.

Not sure if my wife is mad at me but I do not like how she has put away the bowls

2026-06-08 19:54:31 UTC

I once went quite deep into a cave in France and everyone turned off their headlights and it was complete darkness and I wish I could achieve that level of darkness every night.

2026-05-25 06:43:45 UTC

I misunderstood the phrase “get your ducks in a row” and now they’re all arguing

2026-05-22 20:57:47 UTC

Giving Kagi a try since I’ve got three months free. I’ll see how it goes but if I’m being honest I’m not sure I can see myself paying that much for a search engine.

It’s Yoshi’s woolly world and we’re all just living in it

If somebody can claim they made Ai art by typing in a prompt then I can claim I made amazing Indian food by ordering it on an app.

A glimpse into our family. Today we went for a walk. My wife pushing our baby in his pram. I was walking both dogs on their leads. We walked and talked about how much we love bread.

I messaged a musician I like on Instagram to thank them for their music and to tell them that one of their albums from 2006 has been a comfort album to me for years. They thanked me for the messsge and said how happy they were to hear it. Later on she also emailed me directly to say they can see I bought the album on Bandcamp previously and to thank me again. If you like someone’s art, let them know!

2026-01-15 23:03:13 UTC

If I could have any job I’d be a radio DJ with a pony tail who plays full album sides from obscure prog bands to a very small audience.

A few years ago my wife and I were renting a holiday cottage and when we went into the bathroom to check it out we noticed somebody had forgotten to take their loofah with them and so my wife turned to me and said “Greetings Superman, I am left loofah” and it’s still the funniest thing anyone has ever said to me.

Off work tomorrow so I’m going to get up early and go to a bakery whilst everything is fresh. This is the kind of stuff billionaires who don’t need to work should be doing instead of ruining literally everything for everyone.

Imagine how rich you’d need to be to afford a second monocle.

2025-11-21 19:26:33 UTC

I just had to run into the supermarket for some miscellaneous items. Eggs and baby oil. Then I worried that this made me look like some sort of deviant so at the counter I grabbed one more item.
Now I’m worried the chocolate Santa just made it weirder.

2025-06-16 19:16:35 UTC

2025-06-15 18:26:55 UTC

2025-06-13 17:21:51 UTC

Okay it’s time to start crowdsourcing for a new #Blog series exploring some #Fediverse choices of the best albums from particular years. I have selfishly chosen ‘1990’ as the first year because I want to. So what is your favourite album from that year? You can be as brief or detailed as you like but you can only pick one! No honourable mentions, just the one winner. What have you got?

I know I mostly talk about metal but the Beach Boys music is very dear to me and they have written some of my favourite songs and music of all time. Whilst not completely unexpected this one hurts. I feel lucky I got to see Brian Wilson in 2011. He was good then. I can only imagine what he’d have been like in years before. RIP.
