Considering the age of the appliance I would say it is fair. Sadly washers/dryers rarely last that long.

Strained yogurt was still a bit too watery for my liking, so threw it back in the strainer. Used clingfilm around the middle section and no leakage! So easy enough fix.

Greek yogurt has been achieved! I used 2% milk but might try a fattier milk next time. Strainer worked well for my batch that started as just under 2L of milk. The central core leaked a bit of the yogurt so I might have lost about a 1/4 cup there. Rest was clear whey. Not sure if it was too full or just bad design with all plastic. But yogurt! Less tang than the store bought, but hubby said he preferred it. Filled to 3/4 of two 32oz deli containers.

I was leery of fermented foods made at home which is why I never really tried making yogurt before. MIL gave us some kefir granules and we didn't die so I'm expanding my homemade world.
Thanks for the link! Looks intriguing.

Thanks! I splurged on the recommended yogurt maker sieve system in that recipe blog. Greek yogurt is a green light food on my diabetic program so I figured if this works well it will pay for itself. Hopefully actually works!

Thanks! First time jitters were making me worried. Glad I can't screw it up too badly. I guess if it strains too long I have cheese! LOL

Yogurt currently yogurting in my instant pot! Doing 12 hr incubation to try to reduce carbs. Says 6 to 8 hours in fridge undisturbed and then I can strain for greek yogurt. How many hours do you like to leave it straining for greek yogurt? My strainer says 3 to 8 hrs?

That story and the one of the doctors telling my Dad he had to leave cause I was coming out breech and seconds later she could feel tiny hands and feet crawling up her uterus as I flipped myself the right way round are the ones she loves to tell. Guess I had heard the doctor. LOL

I am so very very angry at the anti-vax stuff. We eradicated so many illnesses, but nope, they were too precious to help others with a simple jab. My mother spent most of her pregnancy scared to death I would be blind and deaf cause nobody told her there was measles in a house she visited as a home care nurse while pregnant. Nobody should have to be scared like that.

I have three lobe piercings on the right and two on the left. Having two lobe is kind of nice cause you can have a sparkly stud with your dangly earring or just a bunch of small hoops. I tend to wear just sleeper hoops more than anything these days.

Oh no! It is a bad day for sinks. I walked away from filling our laundry sink to soak wash my bras and hubby came back from groceries to discover the sink filled to the brim and just about to overflow. Saved from disaster.
