"On Tuesday, Brazilian Supreme Court Justice Flávio Dino ordered the Federal Police to investigate suspected foreign financing of Flávio Bolsonaro’s presidential campaign. The investigation will also need to determine whether any connection exists between political support for the senator and foreign interests in Brazil’s rare earth and strategic mineral resources.
The investigation’s main focus is on dealings involving Rockbridge Network, a U.S. organization founded with the involvement of Vice President J.D. Vance, along with Brazilian businessmen Tallis Gomes and Pedro Sang. The Federal Police must determine whether these dealings involved money, services or other economic benefits intended to help Bolsonaro’s campaign.
One of the most significant parts of the ruling is the suspicion that efforts to finance political activity may be tied to foreign economic interests in Brazilian mineral resources."

Today, the far-right Bolsonarists staged a coup against Brazil’s democratic elections.
"Dear non Brazilian friends. Grotesque voter suppression 🗣️allegedly🗣️orchestrated by bolsonarista mayors, police officers and public transportation officials across Brazil. Electoral Court judge extends voting for two hours in the country. The far right sees defeat." - Kleber Mendonça Filho, renowned filmmaker
"Widespread voter suppression is reportedly being carried out by local government officials aligned with Flávio Bolsonaro. They're breaking the law by keeping public buses in the garages to prevent poor and working classes Brazilians from voting. This is very serious." - Andrew Fishman, president & co-founder Intercept Brasil
"Lula tells reporters he has never before complained about elections he has been involved in, irrespective of whether he had won or lost. "But this time something abominable is happening." - Tom Phillips, Latin America correspondent for the Guardian
"So the Bolsonarismo is using every dirty tactic: now it is public transport availability. I hope the @OAS_official ( Organization of American States) observers are documenting this imminent threat to the right to vote of many, targeting the poor. #Brasil #BrazilElection - Renata Avila, CEO Open Knowledge Foundation

#Alert - Yanomami Indigenous people are being threatened by illegal miners following the first round of the presidential election. The miners are counting on a victory for Flávio Bolsonaro—who would grant them impunity for their crimes, just as his father, Jair Bolsonaro, did.
According to Waihiri Hekurari, president of the Urihi Yanomami Association, the intruders are reportedly returning to sites with a history of illegal gold and cassiterite mining. “The Yanomami are desperate,” he warns.
“After [the first round], planes carrying miners have already begun flying over the Indigenous Territory,” warns Dário Kopenawa, president of the Hutukara Yanomami Association.

"Meta’s conduct during Brazil’s election has become a global warning sign. On Wednesday, U.N. special rapporteurs criticized the American company and called on the platform not to interfere in Brazil’s democratic process.
In their statement, the U.N. rapporteurs asked Meta to assess whether its moderation, recommendation and artificial intelligence systems had disproportionately restricted one side of Brazil’s election debate.
They also asked the company to provide adequate explanations and remedies, apply its rules consistently and without discrimination, maintain transparent dialogue with civil society, and ensure complaints can be addressed throughout the election period."

"Out of roughly 2 million olive trees in Gaza before October 2023, only 150,000 trees remain standing. This is a loss of roughly 85% to 90% of the region's olive groves.
Ecocide is the deliberate, widespread destruction of natural ecosystems necessary to sustain human life. Many experts would agree that Israel's systematic destruction of Palestinian farmlands, aquifers, and trees would qualify as ecocide.
Under international humanitarian law including the Geneva Conventions, any objects indispensable to the survival of the civilian population like agricultural areas are granted special protections during conflict.
Olive oil and table olives are crucial to Gaza's local agricultural economy, but in Palestinian culture, olive trees are much more than just a commodity. They are symbols of continuity, resilience, and attachment to the soil. Many groves are hundreds of years old and passed down through generations.
Unlike annual crops like tomatoes or cucumbers that can be replanted and harvested in a single season, mature olive trees represent decades of invested capital. Losing them wipes out a reliable source of income for thousands of families, leaving the dependent on foreign aid."

"Brazil’s far right has long had ties to the Netanyahu administration. Israeli flags are a common sight at Bolsonaro rallies. Benjamin Netanyahu has referred to Jair Bolsonaro as his brother. The Bolsonaro sons make regular trips to Israel, and Carlos Bolsonaro was investigated for setting up a parallel intelligence agency to spy on political opponents and journalists in partnership with the Israeli surveillance company Pegasus.
One of Flávio’s campaign promises is to strengthen ties with Israel.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu publicly supports Flavio Bolsonaro in this year’s Brazilian presidential election.
Israeli political strategist Nevo Cohen has publicly said he is working on an election campaign in Brazil. For example, in June, he wrote, “I got back this week from an election campaign in Brazil,” while commenting on the Brazilian and Israeli elections."

"O cagão nem ganhou e os BANDIDOS já estão falando em INVADIR e ROUBAR terra indígena!
É a BANDIDAGEM ouriçada com a possibilidade de ter um miliciano no poder." - Fiscal do Ibama

During Bolsonaro’s administration, between 2019 and 2022, 420 Yanomami children under the age of five died from preventable causes, such as malaria, malnutrition, and parasitic infections. The number of deaths is nearly double that of the four years prior to the fascist’s administration.
“Bolsonaro’s trail is riddled with disease—it’s full of malaria, diarrhea, parasitic infections, sores, and pneumonia, and plagued by malnutrition, vomiting, and itching. This is the path Bolsonaro has taken, and that is why we, the women of the forest, do not want his son Flávio to take the president’s seat,” reads a letter signed by 60 Yanomami women.
According to the Federal Prosecutor’s Office (MPF) report, more than 10,000 Indigenous children were reportedly left without treatment for parasitic infections, leading to severe cases of the disease—with reports of children expelling worms from their mouths.

The coordinator of Flávio Bolsonaro’s presidential campaign and one of the frontrunners for the presidency of the National Congress has proposed legislation that, in practice, paves the way for salary cuts.
Coutinho, a judge at the Regional Labor Court of the 1st Region (TRT1) and a professor at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, assessed that the constitutional amendment (PEC) advocated by lawmakers from the PL (Bolsonaro’s party) would allow “companies to hire workers on an hourly basis, thereby establishing, in the event of a reduction in working hours, an effective, indirect reduction in wages,” without authorization from unions.

#Brazil: A study by Justiça Global and Terra de Direitos identified 134 incidents of political violence during the 50-day 2026 election campaign. The country recorded an incident of political violence every nine hours during the first round.
Women, Black people, and transgender people are among the groups most affected, while the lack of accountability for perpetrators keeps violence a constant threat to political participation and democracy. Left-wing parties are among the main targets.
Women account for nearly 60% of the candidates targeted. Violence against women is marked by misogyny, racism, and transphobia.

" #Brazil is globally relevant because more than 60 percent of the planet’s largest tropical rainforest lies within its borders. This is what makes the far right’s advance in the first round of the elections a concern to the entire world population. To fail to realize this is to fail to grasp what is at stake in our era—and failing to grasp what is at stake today might cost the future of our children and the children of other species, species whose parents cannot vote but are directly affected by our good or bad choices.
If Flávio Bolsonaro beats Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva in the runoff, there is a high probability the Forest will cease to exist as Forest, which means it will no longer function as a climate regulator or carbon sink, absorbing one of the gases that produces global heating.
There will be bare land, converted for grazing cattle, raising soybean monoculture, and extracting ores and oil, but there will be no Forest. There will be other types of vegetation, but there will be no Forest. The rainfall cycle will be altered, and even the agribusiness sector that today destroys the Forest and cheers on Flávio Bolsonaro will lose, and lose big.
This is the very near future looming before us. But it seems Brazil and the world have not realized this clearly enough."

Please read this serious and well-reasoned analysis of Lula’s presidential campaign against the far right:
"Lula Could Still Win if He Can Consolidate Support from Third Parties
Lula lost by only 2%, and several third-party candidates, who took a combined 8% of the vote, have publicly indicated they would not endorse Flávio Bolsonaro in the second round.
Likewise, 29 million Brazilians did not vote in this round of the runoff and may be persuaded to vote for Lula in the second round if they fear Bolsonaro.
It’s a tough road ahead for Lula, but not impossible."

“Bolivia is becoming a dictatorship. The prosecutor is being jailed because he uncovered that the disinformation campaign unleashed across Latin America during elections is closely and institutionally linked to the U.S. Department of State and the White House. "On Sunday, October 4, millions of Brazilians will decide Brazil’s political, economic, and social direction. They will also pit against each other two opposing visions of foreign policy and the country’s very place in the world.
On one side, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva represents a sovereign diplomacy committed to multilateralism, international law and the self-determination of peoples. On the other, Flávio Bolsonaro presents himself as the heir to his father’s subservience to the United States and the supremacist regime of “Israel”."

"Scenario 3, a catastrophe: Flávio Bolsonaro wins and secures a majority in Congress
If this happens, we will experience something similar to the Jair Bolsonaro administration (2019-2022) but in a much worse context domestically, given the Supreme Court’s internal fragility, and, at a global level, heavily influenced by the administration of Donald Trump, who seeks to turn Latin America into his playground.
Flávio Bolsonaro has already demonstrated that if elected, he will accept Trump’s tutelage. Bolsonaro junior would consequently be in a much more favorable position than his father to finish destroying democracy.
There is only one way for Brazil to remain a democracy, however imperfect: by reelecting Lula and voting in a more progressive Congress."

Colonialism and capitalism are founded on the principles of dominating nature, legitimizing industrialization, and extractivism.

"A MINING company facing charges over allegations that it was part of an illegal mining scheme in the Yanomami Indigenous Territory in the Brazilian Amazon has already exported tin to U.S. companies that hold contracts with the U.S. Department of Defense.
The Pentagon classifies the metal as essential for the production of electronic components used in its military equipment.
White Solder, which presents itself as one of the world’s largest tin producers, supplied at least 525 metric tons to U.S.-based Indium Corporation between May 2023 and August 2025, according to customs records analyzed by Repórter Brasil.
Indium supplies solder to Raytheon, a manufacturer of military systems such as radars and precision-guided missiles, which holds several contracts with the U.S. government. With more than 100 years of operations, Raytheon reported US$88 billion in revenue in 2025.
One of these contracts, signed in 2020 for US$2.2 billion, involves the production of seven missile-defense radars to be delivered to Saudi Arabia by 2027. Under another contract, signed in 2024 and valid until 2031, Raytheon secured an additional US$2.9 billion to provide the United States with units of the company’s most advanced air and missile defense radar system."

"The criminal factions currently operating in the states of the Brazilian Amazon have their roots in an overcrowded and unsanitary prison system that facilitates the recruitment of new members, just as has happened in other parts of the country," says Aiala Couto, a geographer and researcher at the State University of Pará (UEPA).
The state’s own negligence paved the way for crime. “If the state lacks governance, who is behind this? It’s organized crime. Where the state allows a power vacuum, crime takes hold,” says Couto.
According to the researcher, this “governance of crime” takes two forms. On a smaller scale, it involves the violent control of vulnerable territories. “This affects quilombola communities, indigenous territories, and outlying communities of major cities in the Amazon, where criminal factions collect taxes from merchants, impose curfews, and establish so-called ‘crime tribunals.’”

Finally the official reaction from Vzlan Acting President Delcy Rodríguez, who hailed an "historic agreement" that is set to condemn Venezuela to 100 years of neocolonial domination. The statements are now bilingual so it's more practical for US officials and corporate vultures.
Rodríguez expressed her "deepest gratitude" to Trump, Rubio and the US govt for developing this deal, which she called a "historic milestone" in US-Venezuela relations. Confirmed that 17 "strategic oilfields" holding 65 billion barrels of reserves are now at the service of US interests. We're talking about more than 20% of the country's reserves.

Although Brazilian [far-right] visitors praise the facility as a "success story," Cecot is considered inferior to Brazil’s maximum-security prisons. #Brazil: a prison without armed guards defies the ultra-repressive model of Salvadoran President Nayib Bukele
"At this self-managed facility, reintegration is the priority. The recidivism rate is far lower than that of the traditional system.
Yet Flavio Bolsonaro, who is challenging Lula in the October 4 presidential election, wants to take an even tougher approach.
Like the other 70 prisons in the APAC network, founded in 1972 by a Catholic religious brotherhood, the Sao Joao del-Rei facility applies an alternative incarceration method that stands in stark contrast to Brazil's conventional prisons, which are plagued by severe overcrowding, riots and the dominance of criminal groups such as Comando Vermelho and Primeiro Comando da Capital. The 7,000 people incarcerated in these facilities, selected by judges based on good conduct at their previous place of detention and their motivation, do not wear uniforms and spend most of their time outside their cells: They cook, clean and even handle the security of the site themselves."

Side Event at the Brazil Pavilion
"During COP17, APIB, in partnership with its indigenous regional organization, the Articulation of Indigenous Peoples and Organizations of the Northeast, Minas Gerais and Espírito Santo (APOINME), will hold a side event at the Brazil Pavilion.
The event will take place on August 19 under the title:
Indigenous Perspectives on Desertification: Pathways to Address Land Degradation and Prolonged Drought in Brazil’s Biomes.
The panel will bring together Indigenous leaders from Brazil to discuss the advance of desertification and the effects of drought across Brazilian biomes from the perspectives of Indigenous Peoples, with particular attention to impacts on Indigenous territories and traditional ways of life."

The Articulation of Indigenous Peoples of Brazil (APIB) will participate in the COP17, to be held from Aug 17 to 28, 2026, in Mongolia.
"APIB’s participation is grounded in the recognition that Indigenous Peoples are among those most directly affected by environmental degradation processes and the effects of prolonged droughts.
Across different Brazilian biomes, Indigenous territories are affected by deforestation, land grabbing, mining, the expansion of commodity production chains, and pressure on water resources and traditional ways of life.
These processes threaten not only ecosystems, but also water sources, food sovereignty, biodiversity, traditional knowledge, cultural practices and the very continuity of Indigenous Peoples’ ways of life."

"This year’s Report: Violence Against Indigenous Peoples in Brazil, covering data from 2025 and published by the Indigenist Missionary Council (Cimi), reveals that this context of uncertainty resulted in attacks against Indigenous Peoples in their struggles for land, in vulnerability of deterritorialized groups, and in the continuity of the invasions in Indigenous Lands throughout the country."
"On the very first days of 2025, four Avá-Guarani were shot during and armed attack against their community in the Indigenous Land Tekoha Guasu Guavirá, an area in process of state recognition under intense conflict in the state of Paraná. One of the victims, shot in the spine, lost the movements of his legs. In March, a Pataxó man named Vitor Braz was murdered in the Indigenous Land Barra Velha do Monte Pascoal, in the state of Bahia, amongst the Pataxós’ struggle for the demarcation of their lands. In November, Vicente Fernandes, a Guarani Kaiowá, was also assassinated in Tekoha Pyelito Kue, in the Indigenous Lands Iguatemipegua I, in the state of Mato Grosso do Sul, also in a context of territorial conflicts."

Me mandaram dia 3. Parece-me perseguição gratuita.
