Seeing what’s happening now with folks who are using @nprofile…mvm4, for me it’s another confirmation that my decision to self-host with @nprofile…un2n was the right one. My server — my rules. What’s interesting is that I did it because I was tired of @nprofile…4wht shenanigans, and then I realised that if something happens, it’s my own fault — not a problem that became mine because the cockroaches in someone’s head went crazy.

Cars from one company – Tesla – are largely responsible for the relatively high overall EV test-failure rate. For example, 49 percent of Tesla Model 3s failed their first inspections last year, along with 16 percent of Tesla Model S vehicles and 14 percent of Tesla Model Xs.
Electric cars fare worse in Finnish car inspections – up to half of Teslas flunk https://yle.fi/a/74-20186654

@nprofile…d82u Maybe give Withings a shot — they’re a French company, so they’ve gotta play by the EU’s privacy rules. As someone living in the EU, I’ve got full control over my data in the app — I can access, delete, or export it, and I decide which third-party apps can see my info. And I only need to charge it about once a month. The app’s pretty solid even without paying for the extras, too. The only bummer is that none of it’s open source, not even close. https://www.withings.com/eu/en/landing/for-him

@nprofile…ezxs Nesen @nprofile…p4mh tieši izlasīja grāmatu. Izrādās, ka to latviski iztulkoja mana teoloģiskās angļu valodas pasniedzēja universitātē. 😅

Folks! @nprofile…qj8a is a nice alternative to Instagram. Plus, your friends can follow your account there from Mastodon, bridged Bluesky, or any other account on the Fediverse.
I suggest using https://pixey.org as your home server, as @nprofile…s75n is doing a great job there.
Here’s the Android app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.pixelfed
And here’s the iOS app: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/pixelfed/id1632519816

It looks like @nprofile…ce4v still can't accept that Bluesky management didn't see how they could work together. https://mostr.pub/objects/365acc772d2bce392d4b8e3a4a24efb3f7ad8351deda4a11c5a50762ca2ad590

@npub1kzg…4yj7 The thing is, after @npub1sg6…f63m left, other crypto folks arrived... In Latvian, we have a saying, 'ran from the wolf, fell onto the bear,' and that’s how I feel about people migrating from Threads to Bluesky. https://www.theverge.com/2024/10/24/24278897/bluesky-says-it-wont-use-blockchains-even-though-its-funded-by-blockchain-capital

@npub1y98…fhhs They are placing rails in the new Riga station, but they're using the czar’s standard, not the European one. I don’t know if you saw the latest news, but it looks like, for the foreseeable future, Rail Baltica trains will not be arriving in Riga city. #CrossBorderRail https://www.lsm.lv/raksts/zinas/ekonomika/25.10.2024-foto-rigas-centralaja-stacija-rail-baltica-dzelzcela-trase-sak-ieklat-sliedes.a574017/

@npub1alq…mnj6 About that follow thing. That clone account on Bluesky is a little bit annoying, but things are more or less working. https://bsky.app/profile/ojars.kapteinis.lv.ap.brid.gy
I can follow them, they can follow me, and we can have a discussion. So no complaints from my side. The only thing I’m worried about is whether the bridge will handle the growing user base.
