@nprofile…va7h What I've observed is, if it shows 100% with a charging icon, leave it plugged in. When it goes to 100% with a shield icon, pull the plug. It will then stay at 80% the next time.

If China and/or Europe need Middle East oil, they are going to have to deal with the missile threat. The USA will lose interest, as it always does.

@nprofile…mj4q @nprofile…fa4k The USA is not great at theory. The USA is great at making stuff and selling stuff.
Edison once hired a mathematician, and when he asked for the volume of air in a light bulb, the mathematician started measuring and calculating.
Edison filled the light bulb with water and poured the water into a measuring cup.
USA got a bunch of theoretical brains due to WW2 but we also got the Frankfurt School which wrecked our academia.
Most of our research is commercial.

@nprofile…ssav Know what else is really fun? When you are asked by a customer to update their DNS or fix their email or whatever. So you login as them, get the 2FA prompt, and then text the customer to please forward the code. Hopefully the customer answers before the prompt times out.
Sysadmins having shared access to DNS and cloud service admin consoles is a normal thing, which 2FA is not set up to handle.

Is that true of life as well? Is being Elon Musk or Jeff Bezos just the same old drama in more posh surroundings?

@nprofile…vrl0 On an installer flash drive, I've been known to just:
mount -o remount,rw /cdrom

Or:
mkdir /ramdisk
mount -t tmpfs -o size=4096m tmpfs /ramdisk
now you have 4GB of RAMdisk.

The trick is as long as you don't reuse the screen-without-character the compiler can optimize that out and you do not have to hold multiple copies of the screen buffer.
