No, it really isn't.
I was pointing out the importance of considering what kind of failures we see. Some failures are good. Some are bad. Some just are.
Blindly going "failure bad! failure bad!" is both lazy and wrong, whether you are talking about an individual or a company or a government.

The #CloudFlare outage follows a pattern we have seen before. Was it Google last time?
1. Generate an exciting config file
2. Auto-deploy the file everywhere
3. Everything everywhere crashes
All these big systems want to be able to react quickly to certain types of events, so they probably all have this failure mode baked in. Because security! Or some such.
"Obviously" the files deployed this way "should" be validated carefully. And there "should" be canaries and staged roll-outs... Should.

Dear lazyweb!
Does anyone here have enough #kubernetes experience to try and convince me I should use it for managing a fleet of services which are NOT web services?
(My gut feeling is k8s is not designed for this so I'd struggle, but I don't know enough to know what I don't know.)

Partner and I went on a date last night! Having a baby and a kiddo in the house has made dates a little less frequent than we'd like.
But my dad came over to be there for the (mostly sleeping) littles, so A and I could play.
We had picked the most interesting looking event we could find - an experimental musical performance in Tjarnarbíó called Kolkrabbinn 1: Everything Everywhere - https://www.tjarnarbio.is/syningar/kolkrabbinn
It was ... weird! Almost put A to sleep, but I was captivated. It was a good evening.

AI = Automated Idiocy.
These AI systems are very, very dumb. Calling them idiots is doing them a favor, they don't have any intelligence to speak of - they just have a massive corpus of data (of questionable quality and relevance), and the ability to create output that resembles that input.
If you have a problem that can be solved by an automated idiot, lucky you!
But beware the problems that idiots can only make worse.
