I just can guess, but #Django was started over 20 years ago and I assume this was considered to be the best choice at sometime and they have kept it since.

I recently had a discussion with a coworker about commit messages. And I wonder what guidelines developers prefer.
Past tense example (Django):
https://docs.djangoproject.com/en/5.1/internals/contributing/committing-code/#committing-guidelines
Imperative example:
https://github.com/RomuloOliveira/commit-messages-guide/blob/master/README.md#good-practices
Conventional/Semantic:
https://www.conventionalcommits.org/en/v1.0.0/
and

Maybe other styles?

How are popular new technologies affecting our lives?
Apart from their direct effects, they also have side effects on other areas like language ("Just google that").
But what I haven't seen in the "west", is the effect on street life, by small businesses choosing names to make a positive connection with these technologies. This photo seems to be all over social media and is a play on #ChatGPT and #AI. (1/3)

Working from a coworking space offers the opportunity to see how other developers work. And that they sometimes need to resort to the same universal debugging technique: praying. 🙏 #coding #debugging

In my personal de-googleing efforts I've come as far as to ditch @npub1d5h…7mre and to switch my default search engine to @npub1hsh…r5gs .Now I would love to drop gmail and move to something like @npub1tk7…0m5c. This will involve some work, but seems manageable. After that I would want to move away from Google Maps. This on the other hand seems way more difficult. I still haven't found any other app that contains all the features Google Maps has. #enshittification

I have the feeling there is the potential for a PHD thesis in psychology around the fascination with getting something into #Django core. Reposting #pinkyandthebrain

Or/And could this be used to improve what's present in the #Django admindocs to find the location of a specific template? Just wondering.
