Epiphanic Synchronicity

If I boost something, it’s not always because I agree with it. Sometimes it’s because I find it thought-provoking even though I don’t agree with some or even all of it, and sometimes it’s because I think others will find it useful or interesting.

Tesla’s problem is that MAGA people don’t like electric cars, and people who care enough about the environment to buy an electric car don’t like Musk or his company.

Teslas currently have the worst resale value of any passenger vehicles. Would you buy one?

#uspol Huh. I guess what goes around really *does* come around sometimes:

Yeah, enshittifiers don’t get any respect. Imagine how much less shitty our lives would be if it weren’t for them and their diligence in practicing their profession.

I’ve used Windows, Linux, and Mac and I’m fine with learning curves. I actually prefer the Mac’s use of command as the primary modifier key rather than control, and if I ever heavily use Windows or Linux again I’ll look for a way to emulate that.
Tbf, I never had a universal clipboard before I started using Apple products. I just don’t like that something they promote doesn’t work so often. But mostly I’m happy with MacBooks and okay with iPhones.

I was fine with that when I used Linux as my main OS, but no one ever promised that “it just works” because the OS and hardware were so tightly integrated.

I found the command below on Reddit and it appears to be helping (seems to work better with a cut than a copy).
But you know that stereotype that Linux is too hard to use because you have to go looking for terminal commands on forums?
defaults write ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.coreservices.useractivityd.plist ClipboardSharingEnabled 1

I hate how unreliable the universal clipboard is on #macos and #ios. For a feature that #Apple promotes as one of the benefits and conveniences of using its devices and operating systems, this “unpredictably works for a while then doesn’t work for a while until it does again” behavior is unacceptable.

It’s the Democratic party. The “Democrat party” is a name Republicans made up.

This is great news, but unfortunately it doesn’t look like there’s a bulk export option, so #Apple Notes still has a major lock-in problem.
And the more notes you have in it the worse it gets. Fortunately there’s #Obsidian Importer https://help.obsidian.md/plugins/importer

You can achieve the same result and maintain compatibility with any markdown editor by putting two spaces at the end of every line, which adds a hard break

Arguably the closest thing to them now are Chromebooks: cheap laptops with limited capabilities for basic uses.

“Notebooks and laptops occupied distinct market segments into the mid-1990s, but customer preference for larger screens led to notebooks converging with laptops in the late 1990s. Since the early 2000s, the terms laptop and notebook are used interchangeably, irrespective of physical dimensions…” https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Notebook_(laptop)
Two years ago, Apple switched from calling MacBooks notebooks to calling them laptops: https://9to5mac.com/2022/10/07/apple-mac-notebooks-become-laptops/
