Dear Pope Leo, you're taking yourself too seriously.
It's true that the Catholic Church teaches that the pope is a representative of Christ on earth, but not that a pope is his replacement.
When you say that God rejects prayers of leaders who wage war, you are stepping into a role that properly belongs only to God.
Hey Leo, you are not God.

One more thing that makes the Jagdterrier special is that it is one of the very few dog breeds whose standard directly compares chest circumference to height at the withers by using a specific numeric range. Instead of relying on vague wording or hand-span descriptions, the standard spells the relationship out clearly, almost like a formula. It is one of the only breeds where the rule is written like a math problem.

The German Jagdterrier is a singular breed.
At the top of the list is the breed’s unequaled energy level, an unparalleled ferocity for hunting that makes the dog regard anything with a pulse as fair game.
Fun fact: Fully 80% of Jagds are entered to hunt boar, an unusual quarry for a terrier. They are up to it. Hard to keep, hard to train, and downright destructive if they don’t hunt regularly, it 's been said that “adequate care” for them is to throw it a live chicken every so often.

This is an "inside baseball" dog post that starts out with fashion.
It’s been decades since the ‘wraparound’ skirt or dress was a style icon. In fact, if you were born after the 1980s, you won’t have experienced the enormous popularity of the Diane von Furstenberg jersey wrap dress that became de rigueur in professional work spaces, and later, as a sartorial symbol of independence. “It’s more than a dress, it’s a spirit,” said von Furstenberg of her iconic design.

Here's a thought: MOVE THE F'CKN GAME.
Let MN lose revenue.
Why reward bad behavior by making everyone suffer? Admittedly, San Fran is marginally better than MN, but they're not rioting there. Move the game.

I write from Alabama & Mississippi, 2 of the remaining 6 (leaving SC, ND, MN & NH). Hands down, THE best fried chicken is found here. We visited the birthplaces of Elvis & Helen Keller, but an unexpected visit to the world famous Coon Dog Cemetery fell in my lap. Over 350 coon dogs are buried here, a place of love & grief. Trypophobia. It's an aversion or disgust toward patterns of small holes. I first encountered it when someone I’d known for years acted “off” after being handed a coarse-pored sponge during a kitchen clean-up. Though he laughed it off, he admitted that patterns of holes — honeycombs, loofahs, bubble wrap, even Swiss cheese — had always made his skin crawl. Everyone has something, I figured, and moved on to the next dirty dish. But if he happens to be reading this — dude, move on.

Who else is feeling "meh" today?
Last night's voting debacle brings a heavy heart today. Those of a conservative bent are disgusted and/or disheartened. Stalwarts (Raheem) are calling on Trump to clean house (hello, Susie Wiles) while my favorite writer and former leftie, Sasha Stone, notes how good the left was at using a manufactured crisis — the government shutdown to make people vote for communist radical Islamists. I'm reminded of mini skirted Afghani women who ended up in burkas.

No one wore bike helmets, and Barbie, the doll, didn't have friends yet;
Mail boxes were still red, blue AND white until they cut costs and eliminated white;
Lordy, I could go on.

There are so many wrongdoings, Phil, that are painfully obvious - but to those in power, it's like nothing ever happened. They ignore it and move on. They HAVE to know how this all looks to MAGA right now...

Weighing the pros & con persuaded Kash et al to sacrifice their credibility for the greater good.

In the 70s, I was an art student at the Univ. of CO in Boulder. One early morn, I entered the studio to find a Chicano painting a mural. And know that in those days, Chicanos regarded themselves as militant hispanics.Fresh from NY, I asked about the mural...

I lived in Boulder for 8 years. I was pretty sure I was the last Conservative to leave the town, but I would never have seen this coming. Words fail me.

The show was great until the season where Loretta Swit was "glammed." She wore obvious make up. Her hair was more coiffed. And dialogue became safer God forbid anymore language like "bouncing Betty!)
It proved early on that the left has no sense of humor.
Ask any comedian.

Loretta Swit has died. She was among the core of TV's M*A*S*H* that made the show so excellent (before Alan Alda's wokeness infected the series).
In reporting the death, the NYTs wrote the following: "In the Oscar-winning 1970 film “M*A*S*H,"... Major Houlihan (whose blatantly sexist nickname was Hot Lips) was played by Sally Kellerman."
Hey Times, your "sexist" remark is unnecessary in a news item. It passes judgement on another era, & smacks of opinion, not news.
SO SICK OF YOU.

So another judge, this one a federal judge in Boston, has ruled that Trump admin violated his order w/ its deportation flight intended for South Sudan.
This now feels very orchestrated to me.
Like they all got on a Zoom call and coordinated who would do what, and when.
So....just asking.....but wouldn't that be a Conspiracy?

Actually, it WAS really funny. My friend seemed to have a knack for such moments. Needing a new purse asap, she once ducked into a pricey leathergoods store minutes b4 it closed, the clerks ready to go. It wasn't til she was near the register that she spotted just the right purse. She picked it up & rummaged through the inside, impressed that they had thought to fill it with all the things a woman would carry to show its capacity. Turns out, it belonged to one of the employees.

Men.
After losing a lot of weight years ago, a friend treated herself to a hot fudge sundae before shopping for work clothes at a high-end store. She worked her way though designer racks, instructed store clerks to get her this size or that color....
Only in the fitting room did she notice in the mirror that she had a huge chocolate ring around her mouth rivaling a clown’s. Her husband hadn’t said a word.
They’re no longer married.
See something SAY something!

What is WRONG with men?
I had a committee meeting with our county sheriff tonight. We are background checked, sign confidentiality forms-it's serious. I want to look right, so I dressed nice, put on makeup, etc.
At some point B4 the meeting, I forgot I had eye makeup on & started to rub my eyes. I caught myself but asked my spouse: "Do my eyes look ok?? He said, "Sure."
After the meeting, I glanced in the mirror. It looked like I had black confetti under my eyes. Mascara confetti. Grrrrrr

It’s helpful to know that within each genetic color grouping of this breed, there are “shades” of the same color, as well as combinations of color genes. So just as there are dirty blondes, dark blonde, strawberry blondes, etc. in humans, the same holds true in Beagles. That said, there is surprisingly scant information about the genetics of a lemon Beagle.
I end with a cute video of my fave lemon Beagle, of Maymo:

Lemon and White is another acceptable color in the breed, and these dogs have a white base coat, cream, or pure white, with yellow patches on their body, ears, face, and tail. Some say that a telltale feature of a lemon Beagle is a dark brown nose with a hint of pink. I'm not so sure about that after staring at pages of lemon Beagles.
Some lemons have golden irises, & in a show ring, they are acceptable (but not desirable).

“Any true hound color” ‘is not terribly helpful to the potential Beagle owner who wants to show, and perhaps one day, breed their hound but the most common Beagle color is black, tan, and white.
The lemon Beagle (seen here) is sometimes called the “blonde beagle or “white lemon Beagle," and it's relatively uncommon owing to the recessive gene it carries. They are often born so light as to appear white, and develop their lemon-colored spots as they get older.
Lemons are not albinos.
