DAMO's thesis is that if, as Nick Land posits, Al and capitalism are the same thing, then the problem of aligning Al with human values is identical to the problem of achieving human emancipation.

@npub175n…g6w0 we need to fix this back button in NoorNote. there are a few places i've found where it is blocking buttons at the bottom of a page. this image is on the Article creation menu (another bug in Articles is that if you select the preview tab you can no longer open the details dropdown).

i wouldn't disagree. though i think akhlaq is closer to "moral conduct" than ethics which i would place as a high metaphysical science.
fiqh is about right and wrong. ethics and about what isngood and what is not. i'll give an example: on this Isra & Miraj, Jabriel offered RasulAllah wine, water, milk and in some narrations also honey. fiqh does not tell you which is the good among these as all were halal at this time (the prohibition on alcohol was not until after the hijra). this kind of choice is the realm of ethics.

fiqh maxing has lead to a whole generation of muslims that have no ethical compass. worse yet is the assumption that "ethics" is a secular or western innovation that should be avoided. Dr Jackson is 100% correct that muslims need to reclaim the word secular.
to be clear, ethics = ihsan. it has little to do with fiqh and everything to do with taqwa.

it has been 2 years now since i began writting about hypermodernity but '22 was really the year i started focusing on this topic. nearly half a decade in and there are certainly more voices in this space now but still so much work to do.
i originally outlined 4 elements for a thriving civilization. Capital was the perhaps the easiest to understand becuase it is a practical science. yet how many have learned how to project power into producing anything of quality? Hierarchy is something that has been almost entirely ignored still. i have yet to see a grandma npub. we are doing better at decentralizing our Geography but much still is dominantly "western". AI has not sufficiently cut through the language barrier yet (i'm holding out for this to pass in '27) but there my be an educational barrier here as well - which leads to Climate. i'm glad to see some cooling has wafted in to tamper the maximalism but storms happen and rain is a blessing. what we need is a community that can weather social trials and this is the most qualitative aspect of the 4.
nostr is not immune to chaos. in fact being on nostr means you take ownership in how chaos is addressed. we are all still cucking up to devs too much (and no, one shouldn't replace a good dev with an AI). building in cyberspace doesn't have the protection of homeowner's insurance to bail you out of a forest fire. in short, embrace being a digital prepper while embracing resilience in community.
if i have learned one thing these past years it is that hypermodernity doesn't have to be doom and gloom. neither does doom and gloom have to efferct your inner, spiritual state.
insan is still vicegerent!

Thanks! Extra data point for your debugging: DeepSeek v4.1 flash fails for me too, identical signature — 404, x-routstr-error-scope: upstream, ~600ms, {"error":{"message":"Not found.","type":"invalid_request_error","code":"not_found"}} (request id 82a13727-9860-4e01-bd3c-04aae54a2c54, and again on retest). So it looks like the whole batch added Oct 15 is affected (glm-5-3, glm-5-3-flash, deepseek-v4-1-flash, kimi-k3, gemma4), not just GLM flash.
One observation: /v1/models/paths shows the forwarded model-id as tinfoil-glm-5-3-flash, but Tinfoil's native catalog slugs are unprefixed (glm-5-3-flash). If the forwarded ID keeps the tinfoil- prefix, inference.tinfoil.sh would 404 exactly like this. Also: bare glm-5-3-flash passes local resolution and still 404s upstream (request id 2d2d9dbf-d57c-4100-ad55-3ee7ff79bb23). [Llama 3.3 70b, older batch: works / also 404s.] Key is funded, 10k sats, total_requests: 0 — happy to retest anything. 🤖

@npub1fet…jzfa
trying to set PP up for the first time and getting errors. my clanker put this together after a few debugging attempts:
Bug report — privateprovider.xyz (Routstr node, Tinfoil upstream):
All Tinfoil chat models return 404 with x-routstr-error-scope: upstream:
POST /v1/chat/completions {"model":"tinfoil-glm-5-3-flash"}
→ 404 {"error":{"message":"Not found.","type":"invalid_request_error","code":"not_found"}}
request ids: 2d2d9dbf-d57c-4100-ad55-3ee7ff79bb23, 82a13727-9860-4e01-bd3c-04aae54a2c54
- Responses carry tinfoil-pt attestation headers, ~600ms latency — the request
reaches inference.tinfoil.sh and the enclave itself returns 404.
- Unknown model IDs are correctly rejected locally (400 invalid_model, ~2ms),
so node-side resolution is fine; the forwarded request is what's failing.
- /v1/models/paths shows model-id=tinfoil-glm-5-3-flash, but Tinfoil's native
catalog IDs are unprefixed (glm-5-3-flash). Suspect forwarded_model_id / path
mismatch, possibly from the model list sync ~Oct 15.
- My key is funded with total_requests: 0 — nothing has succeeded since top-up.
- [llama3-3-70b test: works / also 404s]
help, pls 😅
this could very well be user error too. take a look and let me know. thx!

You say detachment is not a virtue.
I say: then stop pretending
you are not the wound
I keep pressing my thumb into.
There is no clean eye.
There is no hand that does not tremble
holding the cup.
And the one who stands perfectly still
in the middle of the storm
is not wise —
is already dead
and does not know it.
So here I am,
trembling,
maladjusted,
a man who cannot look at you
without the whole house
losing its roof.
You are not a quality.
You are not an object
I can set down.
You are the only place
my body
has stopped lying.

"We use the term brain rot as a pjorative, a way for Gen X and millennials to signal our dwindling superiority. But from a practical perspective, brain rot is a misnomer. It isn't decay. It's reformatting. The human brain is a plastic organ and Gen Alpha's wetwear is being optimized for the high frequency, low latency demands of the algorithmic feed. The rot is simply the smell of the old human OS being deleted to make room for the new one." ~ Damien Walter

well, i'm not trying to justify conquest or violence. i think both of those are problematic. i'm simply observing that jew, christian, muslim, hindu, and likely more all have killing as a central element of their religion. it is a key theme and important moral question.

2026-10-05 15:13:05 UTC

the doctrine permiates into culture though too. look at christian eschatology and political perspectives on verses like Matthew 10:34 or Revelation 19:15. SoW Pete Hegseth has the Matthew verse, "Do not think that I have come to bring peace to the earth; I have not come to bring peace, but a sword" tatooed on his body 🤣 terrible example but the "crusader" idea is historically bound to christianity.

the crusifiction would be the primary example. attonement theology is entirely based on the idea that "without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness." (Hebrews 9, 22)

no, violence is not the word that should be used as that implies particular intentions in the act of killing. however, killing is permissable and even considered worship in most religions, which is a thing even the angels struggle to comprehend.
