It's excellent but has become very expensive here especially now they shrunk the pack size, so I had to stop buying it. Worth it at that price though 🙂

It could be root stock but yes young plum trees especially the more wild ones have a habit of being surprisingly spikey when young. I have about 2-3 young spikey plum trees growing around the mother tree here that I need to get out in the dormant season.

But it's a man in a Western suit placed in a part of London where a lot of statues of kings and notable people from Britain are displayed so it's pretty easy to conclude it's not about that. It's only about the flag of the country the absolute lack of depth, endorsement by the establishment that have shown absolute contempt for the people living in it at a time when people are already demoralised and leaving is as about as edgy kicking an old man when he's down because maybe he was a top tier athlete back in the day.

Primarily medicine, feed second. That's why I find the earlier stuff useful. It only goes away with the frost here so near you does it keep going all year?
Going to be using it to try to make a bacillus subtilus feed later as apparently it can feed on that too.

2026-04-15 11:11:46 UTC

If you want your #comfrey way earlier in the season consider growing symphytum officinale too. Yes it seeds but it's not that bad especially if you have time to cut regularly.
I have been using it for well over a month now and the bocking 14 has barely emerged.

It's not the easiest to control but I can think of worse stuff. We used to have land which had sheep on it many years ago and it would grow on a matt of 3 inches of soil on a concrete base so might do ok in a pot or tray or fenced in with edging of some kind. You will have to make sure you keep hacking it down otherwise it will set seed.
See if you can find a patch locally before you take the hard option especially if you don't like getting stung.

As a general rule of thumb with a bit of research to see if it's toxic to people, if it's plant that makes people pissed off and swear a lot because they can't get rid of it usually makes an excellent fertiliser. A lot them tend to end up being medicinal to some degree too.

The Youtube algo is particularly annoying in the sense you click on on of these things you end up with more of them. I think I have about 3rd of my recommended video as obviously repackaged ai content by now despite me blocking the ones I see even more pop up.

2026-03-24 20:27:08 UTC

- reply

It's not they are always wrong..for now but you can see where this is going if people decide to stop posting real content and not getting any reward for doing so.

2026-03-24 20:11:36 UTC

People are using AI to repackage original content on YouTube into their own channels kind of how I 're-wrote' content off Microsoft Encarta or the 90's internet before the teachers cottoned on to that kind of thing - but with less far accuracy and far more gusto.
The difference is they are getting payed quite a bit through ad revenue to rinse and repeat. Once you see it is really obvious. AI Slop is bad but slop feeding off the creativity of another is incidious so how long before Youtube Ouroboro's itself to death?
Could nostr help fix this sort of thing? Or are we doomed to bad advice because a data centre went with more compelling rather than accurate information because it was told to?

Its the same here, except it rarely gets super hot and it generally goes away by itself as the grass grows again likely due to the bacillus subtilus. There maybe a few edge cases where the moss might be inhibiting the grass from taking hold but thats because the environment is basically too shady for grass so you need a different type of grass. By the time you have sprayed the ferrous sulphate and scarified the moss you have disturbed the grass and so need to reseed making it more like an annual. Never understood it. The only thing that does make a difference is improving the drainage of the soil but no focuses on that (apart from using those hollow tiners) but then they mess it up again buy killing all the worms with the synthetics.

If you are in the #uk and want to know a fruit tree variety by having its dna matched against the dna databases from national collections go here: http://fruitid.com/ its costs £46.50 and you send off 6 leaves from the tree later in the year but you have to register around now.
Its really useful considering we have thousands of named #apple varieties alone and they do #apples #pears and now #cherries.

Because the water companies here chronically underinvest in everything so release raw sewage into the river while making record profits and paying dividends to shareholders.
There is also nitrogen runoff from farms etc leaching into the waterways too. The government fines the water companies but they don't actually do anything to help the problem.
This should actually help fix the pollution issue and I will send them a bill for it later. 😁
