i like monero and can see its merits but this propaganda does not help it imo. monero is still deeply flawed in terms of privacy, just like its alternatives, and it's all a matter of tradeoffs. monero has been deanonymized in the past (pre-rct txs) and will be deanonymized in the future, even if only on Q-day. people should always consider this before making and decide based on their threat model. are they ok with their transactions being public and transparent 30 years from now? 20? 10? i personally think offchain monero transactions are the endgame for privacy (see opendime and others), but see no effort or demand towards that goal.
anyways if i am talking out of my ass and completely mistaken i'd love to be corrected (cunningham's law).

anarchy is basically just direct democracy with a different aesthetic. not much point in arguing about semantics, i think both of you are against illegitimate structures of power.

i don't think you should prescribe your world view and preferences to others as the right ones to follow, like some messiah would. allow and accept others to live their lives in their own terms. ask them to do the same with you. mutual respect and understanding between folks sharing different views goes a long way. the common tribalistic adversarial mentality is a net loss on humanity.

https://github.com/stawiski/open-ring
and also the ZSWatch or PineTime if you are interested in smart watches.
i think none of them are nearly as polished or usable as the oura ring, but these are the projects i am keeping an eye out for.

and what do you think a public online ledger of every transaction you make is?

anyone know some #monero heads that mainly talk about things other than crypto? it seems almost everyone here is crypto this, crypto that. i find it exhausting. i really like monero folk, they seem wise and properly aligned. i just want to read more about other things, like: linux, tech, foss, riscv, private messengers, mesh networks, darknets, decentralized solutions, etc. maybe i should just try to be what i wish to see.
