You know how much music is on a 1,800 ft reel-to-reel tape running at 1⅞ IPS?

6 hours and 24 minutes.

I am listening to 6 hours and 24 minutes of "beautiful music" recorded from a radio---made all the way back in the 1960s.

For the first hour, I was like, "This has historical value!"

I'm now in the third hour---almost finished the first side---and I have profound feelings of violence. There is nothing beautiful about this music. It is rage inducing.

I now understand why Satanic Panic was a thing.
Sometimes I think the hate for 60s- and 70s-era "beautiful music" is over-the-top.

But today, I've been hearing an 1,800 ft reel-to-reel tape running at 1⅞ IPS that is NOTHING but "beautiful music", and a bloody hate it! Whoever recorded this was the worst kind of troglodyte---the kind of person who likely believed drums were from the devil.

Why am I putting myself through this torture?

Because in the *very* slim chance there's something worth preserving, I don't want to erase this.

But if there's nothing here, I can't wait be rid of this nonsense.
