Don't worry if you missed my @npub1cdr…a4pr talk this year, you can watch the recording of Not Your Private Army: On the Trail of Cyber Ops online https://emma.best/2025/08/16/not-your-private-army-on-the-trail-of-cyber-ops/

Val Broeksmit was an FBI informant who tried to entrap me and frame me as Phineas Fisher. Along the way, he tried to hack and inform on his enemies, journalists and Epstein.
This is his story.

I see "PACER hack" and hope RECAP would be getting loaded up - but no, it's much worse https://www.politico.com/news/2025/08/06/federal-court-filing-system-pacer-hack-00496916

I've just been told that John Young of Cryptome.org passed away last week.
#Cryptome was foundational, and a predecessor to organizations like @npub1dp6…xtp6 and #Wikileaks.
RIP, John.

People need to be more alarmed that the United States has started permanently banning trans foreign travelers from entering the country

"He followed Joe Rogan" okay?? EAT THE RICH, NULLIFY THE JURIES
"He might have had a mental breakdown six months ago" You know what would have been great for that? HEALTHCARE.
And fxck those people at McD's that snitched; cops and CEOs will never care about you no matter how much you blow them.

It's cool that everyone's examining the alleged shooter's social media history like the amateur web detectives they always make fun of, while simultaneously giving themselves bread and a circus to divert from the discussion about healthcare being horribly broken
Good job folks

Don't destroy the records in bases throughout Syria - seize them. Publish them. Open the servers up.
Assad has documented his crimes. Let the world see.

Periodic reminder that there is no centralized filtering on Mastodon. If you replace letters in text, you're not sneaking padt corporate censorship - you're evading (violating) people's personal filters.

FYSA, a good bit of their data is years old/recycled.
They also seem to be tied to Iranian intelligence and share significant but not wholly unique markers with "Anonymous For Justice", which recently went silent.

For some of us, energy isn't the attractive part of Iceland. (Edit to add I'm not sure what your point was, but I would agree that the environmental and energy exploitation is a part of the situation)

A friend who works with the data centers in Iceland has told me repeatedly that AI and crypto crap is ruining the industry, driving up prices, and eating up resources in the worst way.
The ONLY people winning are the speculators who can afford to burn money and the planet.
