all of this IoTs crap is so bad that I gave up on all of it. Disconnected everything or threw it out.
It's exhausting that it just never works

2026-10-20 12:21:55 UTC

- reply

that makes sense! Thanks!

2026-10-19 19:57:00 UTC

Like I get how the Internet works, loosely, what I can't wrap my head around is why we need an ISP.

I truly hope that is the case, and I agree that once it's truly paywalled or metered like a utility, most people will give it up.
It's a neat novelty, but for the average person it stays that. The ads I see for its use, they are just so generic. They don't solve the average people's problems.
For actual experts it is a time saving tool, if they don't get lazy. Which sadly is what it breeds.
I've used it to help figure out syntax issues in my formulas, and about 40% of the time I end up spending more time trouble shooting what it did than if I just spent the time doing it myself. Helpful for exploring new things but it's too much of a shortcut for me.

agreed, it could be useful, if used by someone who knows what they are doing.
All this just seems like a huge psy-op to get people to like AI. It's year 3 of the general population hating AI and companies are still losing money on its use. It's a desperate attempt to swing public opinion.
I am also worried that some of these gen ai programs are sleeper programs of some sort. Creating a huge bot net or something

2026-10-05 01:25:08 UTC

The sudden explosion in ai generated native 3ds ports is starting to feel like an ai psyop

adorable!

it's fucked up but I can see that happening. We already kinda see the foundation of that being built.
I have hope that "we the people" won't take that as an outcome. I know our system won't do anything to stop it

2026-07-30 13:42:52 UTC

- reply

that's something I haven't considered. It would be nice if automation actually gave us surplus

2026-07-30 12:05:20 UTC

I completely agree! It might pay off, they have a better infrastructure that might sustain them.
Now the US on the other paw... I think we might ussr ourselves while trying to become a police state

2026-07-29 23:25:52 UTC

I'ma be real honest here. Every time the US says China is a bad country and bans something from there, the more I think they are lying.

2026-06-29 14:17:48 UTC

- reply

I completely agree. It's ridiculous, but at least they are consistent with not putting out pc versions for years.

2026-06-28 20:56:22 UTC

Am I the only one who doesn't really care about GTA 6?

2026-06-24 17:56:58 UTC

yeah that's fair. it might not even be their issue, could be issues with incoming data being fubar

2026-06-24 17:48:21 UTC

that would piss off their investors, plus can't report on something that "doesn't exist"

I know this doesn't help, but set it on fire or leave it alone. Those usually solve most of my problems

2026-05-24 15:53:02 UTC

- reply

fair! I never got a chance to play GameCube games, I stayed more to pc games with a few consoles in there.

2026-05-23 23:05:12 UTC

- reply

that might be why I don't like 4k, I tend to play more *realistic* games. Stylized games would look better in 4k for sure

2026-05-23 22:59:30 UTC

- reply

raytracing does look nice, I agree that it isn't needed. Games can still look amazing without raytracing. *Cough* Halflife alyx
Also fuck 4k.
I want 1080p and raytracing at 60 fps. That is attainable on current hardware.

2026-05-23 19:54:51 UTC

Nearly 20 years after mirrors edge came out I finally have a pc powerful enough to play it with phyx on.
Shame that Nvidia fuck up on that technology. That should have been the future of gaming.

2026-05-20 14:32:33 UTC

- reply

that's what I was thinking, so let's hope that's the case!

2026-05-20 12:44:49 UTC

I was sanding some plastic yesterday and I didn't wear a mask.
Now I can feel plastic particles in my throat and no amount of coughing, water or food is removing them :|

The game is gorgeous too btw and the first unreal engine 5 game that doesn't run like shit

2026-05-15 01:21:57 UTC

- reply

Give it a shot for sure! The game has been cracked already or you can buy and return if you don't like it. But you hit the ground running for sure

2026-05-15 01:15:23 UTC

I never finished below zero tbh, but that game was small for sure. the thalassophia is in 2, the set up (the story this far) is just really good. It very much feels like the first game

2026-05-15 01:01:27 UTC

- reply

I am also only an hour Into the game.
Did you not like below zero?

2026-05-15 00:57:12 UTC

2026-05-15 00:14:54 UTC

I got subnatica 2 as a birthday present for myself and the game is so freaking cool!!
The story is really interesting!

I have had 7 servings of beans in 24 hours, my tummy feels weird, I'm gassy and I know what my future holds.
Damn you past me, this is your fault.

I dunno, clothes are always fun, stickers or other physicals would be nice too. Got any suggestions?

2026-05-09 21:13:57 UTC

My birthday is in a few days, I kinda wanna buy myself something nice but I'm not sure what.
I want it to be furry Merch, maybe abdl merch?
I could use more diapers.
I just want something fun

Or they are willing to operate at a loss to sell more switches which are bleeding them dry from my understanding

2026-05-07 00:37:15 UTC

- reply

so it's 60 bucks for physical and 50 for digital. 50 is a bit better imo

2026-05-07 00:17:27 UTC

- reply

definitely! The 3ds was an awesome piece of hardware. Wish some handheld would do that today. It is definitely a "you have been bitching and moaning about a new starfox game for years, but you didn't buy the others so, here is your last chance"
Id settle for 60, otherwise I'll wait for a switch emulator. Can't even buy the game used at a decent price.

2026-05-07 00:01:31 UTC

- reply

I agree, it's a cash grab. It's a lazy way to focus on graphics for the switch 2, just like they did for the 3ds to push sales.
At least they added multiplayer, new lore and cutscenes. If it's 70 bucks it's a hard no for me though

2026-05-06 23:44:29 UTC

I don't hate the new star Fox character design, I do wish it was more cartoony or more like fox in the movie. But they look good.
It's a shame that they couldn't make a new story but it will be fun to see the in-between dialogue and expanded story.
And I'm sure if this doesn't do well we can say goodbye to any chance of any new games.
The avatar face cam is a cool touch! I hope someone is able to extract the models or this sparks a new wave of vtubing interest

I actually agree 100%, but I actually hate the company. The work is fine but it's incredibly toxic and manipulative. Depending on what mood The CEO is in, he causally threatens people.
There is just enough flexibility to stay but not like the job.

2026-05-01 18:55:02 UTC

Coworker just quit, which isn't a huge surprise, he only lasts about 5 years before moving on.
But I've been here 14 ish years and I'm feeling like a failure. Spent my whole career here and it feels like I've wasted my time/ held myself back.
Loyalty means nothing. They prove that everyday. But I'm comfortable and my job is pretty easy.

this. It's starting to annoy me that even after putting in the extra effort to find a solid solution to something, I can't get one. And I end up using AI to get a 50% correct answer that I can figure out on my own from there.

Yeah I get that. I spent about 8 months just surviving. Lots of time huddled in a corner just trying to make it to the next moment.
Try something small like, give yourself a nice bath?

2026-04-22 23:55:52 UTC

But as Rusty said, it shouldn't be like this. It should be about sharing when you feel like it and it doesn't have to be deep. But we fell into this trap of having to have the most numbers in order for us to have any worth.

Anyone with networking experience:
Can you explain to me why my PC and steam deck can download a game at 6 MBps but when I do a local transfer from my pc to the steam deck it's like 500 kbps and take 4-6 hours?
Both are connected via wifi to the same router.
I can download the game faster via servers than from my own network. What am I missing?
